Chapter 1 - Fallen Angel

Short poems that sprouted from my mind of varying degrees of competence.

Chapter 1 - Fallen Angel

Chapter 1 - Fallen Angel

From across the room I watch,
a fallen angel come to haunt me.
She turns to me,
her raven hair spilling across her face.
Her beauty has always astounded me,
a face too perfect to believe.
Her eyes catch mine, an azure dream.
She looks away,
she will never hold a gaze for long.
I watch her always from afar, no matter how close I am,
She will always keep people at a distance.
She speaks, the sound alone enough to stir me.
She smiles, she laughs.
But her laughter never carries to her eyes,
to all the world she appears so happy.
But I see underneath her veil,
a heart haunted and chained.

~
Written while I was hit with one of those melancholy moments.
It's written from personal experience about one of those completely unatainable people that you can't help but see through rose-tinted lenses.
I need to get myself some thick-rimmed glasses now as punishment for writing this.
Frozen Illusion.
