Chapter 1 - "Rage" and "Why, Why, WHY?"
Author's note: October 6, 2006 showed my anger bitter side with these two poems. Writing was the only way to get my tangled emotions in line.
“Rage”
Cold, murderous, sharper than a sword
Heartless, violent, vengeful, worse than Discord
Delighted by violence, desperate to cause pain
Struggling with inner demons, trying to stay sane
Fists clenched, knuckles white, fingers imbedded in skin
Scowl in place, icy gaze, let the pain begin
Guilt can follow for treatment of friends.
It will come once the pain ends.
“Why? Why? WHY?”
I stand here confused and upset.
The pain and the rage haven't lessened yet.
I find more tears with every memory.
Why dear god, why have you done this to me?
Had they not suffered enough with the weeks prior?
Right at this moment, I think you a liar.
I think of those words spoken with pride
“With liberty and justice for all,” So tell me, who lied?

Good. Very deep.
