Chapter 1 - Displays of Affection
Displays of Affection
When the dying man kissed the other man’s hand, those watching were saddened. They knew not what to think of it but sadness, for they would have done the same.
When the other kissed the dying man’s forehead, their hearts were moved. They knew not what to think of it but pity, for they would have done the same.
When the other kissed the dying man’s lips, which parted in return, they were astounded. They knew not what to think.
