Chapter 1 - The Beginning

When I was young, I dreamed of being a High Summoner. I spent my whole life learning how to defeat Sin, and I think I finally want to tell you all about it.[br]

When I was 11, my mother fell deathly ill and my father was a workaholic. I knew that I didn't have much time left with my mother, so I spent everyday just sitting next to her bed, until the day she passed on. My father loved my mother, but he became so consumed with his work, that he almost forgot that he had a family. The last thing my mother said to me was, "Just know that I love you my darling daughter, and please tell your father that I'll see him in another life." By that time, I was 13 and I spent most of my days alone, just imagining how it would feel to be a High Summoner one day. My father was High Summoner and he always told me that to be a High Summoner, I must focus on that and that alone. To have my mind set on it, to finish my Pilgrimage once I have started, because if I lose passion for it, then it will all have been a waste. He told me that my whole life, and I never forgot it. Anyway, after my 16th birthday, I decided that I wanted to be High Summoner, and that I was going to put my whole life into it. I felt such passion and I knew that I would definitely go through with it, no matter what. I then practiced until I knew everything there was to know about Aeons and defeating Sin, I just knew that this was my calling. I had such a desire to protect the people of Spira and this was my chance.[br]

I'm 17 now, and I'm now ready to become High Summoner. I have my guardians to protect me, my sister Lulu is coming to make sure that I'm safe and there is this other boy who is my age who is planning on coming with us. Wakka met him at Besaid beach and said that I would like him, but I don't know about that...I'm pretty picky. Anyway, tomorrow is when we set off for Kilika, and I am so excited to finally start my pilgrimage. I know that I will be able to finish every task that I'm meant to in order to defeat Sin. [br]

So, I met the new guy, Tidus. Wakka wasn't wrong, I do like him and I'm happy that I'll be able to spend time with him while we are on the pilgrimage. He told me that he had never done anything like this before and that he lost some of his memory since he got too close to Sin. It sounds like we'll have a lot to talk about, and I can't wait.[br]
