Chapter 1 - Mayada
Mayada Jafar (Still I Cried)
Note: This poem I wrote last night (4-24-06) because all my friends had written poems. If you want to know who Mayada is, though this poem kinda tells all, go to my website (see profile) in the art section, take a look at my pic “In Memory”, or send an IM to me at either screamforfire or InuRoyTohru.
Mayada Jafar
Though I hardly knew her
Wouldn't be able to recognize her from afar
But still I cried
Mayada Jafar
Took a walk with her cousin
As a man drove home from a bar*
And still I cried
Mayada Jafar
Killed with her cousin by a drunk driver
In his out of control car
So then I cried
Things may happen
Out of our control
Perhaps together we could have prevented it,
Together, as a whole
If only people could take responsibility
And not drive around drunk
Children like Mayada would still be alive
And no one would have to cry.
*The man actually wasn't driving home from a bar, but he was still drunk. “Bar” was the only word I could think of that fit that rhymed with “Jafar”.
