23 Minutes

Take me by surprise
to a place I don't deserve.
What is it I'm falling to?
Flames, the pain
Will you
take this away?

Locked in this cage
with Terror and Evil,
towering like a
hideous, misshapen accident.
Spilling my blood
without granting me
the gift of death.

Escape into this abyss
Screams echo,
a light amongst darkness,
I'll go.
What is it?
Chained to the cave wall,
thank God they are.

Breach the Hell mouth
that swallowed me.
This is paradise
to my relative thought.
But before me,
I fall to my face.
Why was this happening?

This, the journey you took
was merely a glimpse
for those who chose to forsake.
Take it back with you
to tell. Don't hide it.
And know this too,
I'm coming back soon.

Hit the sky
and fall,
miss the chasm narrowly.
Hit my living room floor,
in need of water.
Feeling so cracked and dry.

It all floods back,
like a waters tide.
Those words still echo,
I'm coming back soon.
