Chapter 1 - 48 Hours
48 Hours
When all was calm,
When all was finally quiet,
The weeping stopped,
The crying ceased,
The unimaginable took place
It was that cold, sickly morning she crawled out of bed
A minor affliction,
Some soup to make it better,
But then, it faded black
A rush to the hospital was in order,
Maybe it wasn't too late,
That sliver of hope,
Hoping and praying
They say in comas, one's still responsive
So they spoke, and read,
And waited
But to no avail,
She was lifted home,
To sit and spy on us in our grief
But we'll try our best
To grieve not like those who have no hope
Leora, young child, you won't fade away
When all was calm,
When all was finally quiet,
The weeping stopped,
The crying ceased,
The unimaginable took place
It was that cold, sickly morning she crawled out of bed
A minor affliction,
Some soup to make it better,
But then, it faded black
A rush to the hospital was in order,
Maybe it wasn't too late,
That sliver of hope,
Hoping and praying
They say in comas, one's still responsive
So they spoke, and read,
And waited
But to no avail,
She was lifted home,
To sit and spy on us in our grief
But we'll try our best
To grieve not like those who have no hope
Leora, young child, you won't fade away
