Goodbye

I know that you won't admit it

But the facts are

I don't love him anymore.

So, quit saying it over and over

For you are only in denial.

My heart is yours

And only yours.

But your heart

Isn't mine.

Yours belongs to my friend

Even though you say it doesn't,

But you just prove it

By saying you love her

And don't want to

Hurt her.

I won't give up on love,

I never will.

But I know I must give up

My love for you

And so,

I shall try to get over it.

I don't want to be alone

And I am only going upon that path

By staying in love with you.

But my heart is still yours,

I just want to let you know that

And, now, I say

Goodbye

For this dagger I hold

Within my very hands

Shall strike my heart

And end this pain,

This loneliness,

And this sorrow.
