Chapter 1 - Forever and Always
She picks off every last rose petal.
Each last one gets thrown on the ground;
and in the silence, it crashes with a loud sound
as she stomps on every last beautiful flower.
The ground shakes as he walks away,
and windows break from the piercing screams.
As the sun casts down its ostentatious beams,
it starts to look like the end of them.
Forgiveness had never been so hard,
especially to someone who hardly cared.
She ran to him and a hug they shared,
and maybe it could be complete.
He didn't know how to accept it.
Even though he loved her very much,
her act of forgiveness he could not clutch.
But maybe he could start again.
As the couple got back together,
hand in hand, sauntering slowly down the street.
She felt something at her feet.
She knelt down and picked up every last petal.
Their love would never cease to grow.
He had changed his unloving ways.
He stopped walking and he met her gaze.
"Here's to forever and always."
