Chapter 1 - "Just the Other Day"
Submitted May 21, 2007 Updated May 21, 2007 Status Complete | "Just the Other Day" is one of my best poems, I think. It doesn't tell anything about me like my other poems. I can't explain it, really.

Chapter 1 - "Just the Other Day"
"Just The Other Day"
Woke up in the night
From a dream about you.
Nothing in sight,
And nothing to do.
Looked at the clock,
About a quarter to two.
Me to say,
"Just the other day..."
Lay back down,
Wishing for your voice's sound.
Thinking about you,
all the things in you I'd found.
Then a tap at the door stopped everything,
A few more steps after a few more dings.
Me hearing you say,
"Just the other day..."
Looked at the clock,
About a quarter to eight.
Hate to make you wait.
Grabbed my jacket walked out to with you.
So little time, and so much to do.
We'll make time,
It's not a crime.
We'll make a dime,
And stop and say...
"Just the other day..."
Woke up in the night
From a dream about you.
Nothing in sight,
And nothing to do.
Looked at the clock,
About a quarter to two.
Me to say,
"Just the other day..."
Lay back down,
Wishing for your voice's sound.
Thinking about you,
all the things in you I'd found.
Then a tap at the door stopped everything,
A few more steps after a few more dings.
Me hearing you say,
"Just the other day..."
Looked at the clock,
About a quarter to eight.
Hate to make you wait.
Grabbed my jacket walked out to with you.
So little time, and so much to do.
We'll make time,
It's not a crime.
We'll make a dime,
And stop and say...
"Just the other day..."
