Chapter 1 - "The Face in the Mirror"
This also was done for a school project, but then revised to what it is now. Please enjoy!
"The Face in the Mirror"
When I look in the mirror,
I see a girl,
She is me.
She belongs here and knows it,
But doesn't know how it would have been somewhere esle,
She is me.
She is a person who is loyal and trusting,
And doesn't understand people who abuse her qualities,
She is me.
Her soul is scarred like manatee flesh by careless others,
These scars create a cage around her;
She is trapped by her shyness,
She is me.
The cage synthesizes of invisible fears, unknown to others,
But the bars of a cage cannot trap light radiating from her heart,
Sections of the cage break away each day she faces her fears,
She is me.
From the voids flow creativity,
Shedding light through her hands and escaping every time she smiles,
She is me.
Her friends shed light to her heart and refuel the light,
The light between the friends grows stronger,
Helping her heart grow larger,
Until she can be completely released,
She is me.
