Chapter 0 - This Is What It Takes

Just when you think
That you really have gained control
Of yourself again
That reassurance crumbles underneath you
Like it did once before

And you'd think that you would learn
But it's not that easy to do
With that clever decietful feign
And that just-out-of-reach goal
Taunting you, bringing you closer to the brink

When you break more than once
It's east to just not get back up
And stay on the ground
Than keep your chin up
and be strong for the one that you love

With much experience in that field
I've learned to take a painless punch
And duck the ones that will hurt the most
In turn, it keeps me safe
But unwilling to be bold and live life to its fullest

You can't pretend and act your way through life
You can't always get what you want
You can't keep yourself from hurt

You have to tell the truth
You have to be in pain at times
You have to be willing to give what you have to others

This is what it takes to live
To love
And be loved
To be happy
To feel good
To be content
This is what it takes
