Chapter 1 - Chapter One
Chapter One:
"No Zim, you can't." Sixteen years old Dib said, tugging on the green Invader's arm. "You can't leave me."
"I'm sorry, Dib, but the Tallest want me to return." Zim said, not wanting to look at Dib.
"Why? You said you weren't going to be an Invader anymore. You said you would never leave me!" Dib said, now shouting.
"I'm-I'm sorry." He said, lowering his head.
"No...No you aren't." He said, dropping the alien's arm. "If you were really sorry, you wouldn't go."
"I have no choice, Dib!" He yelled. "If I did, I would stay with you."
Tears started to form in the human's eyes. "You told me that you loved me."
"I do." Zim said, placing Dib's hands in his. "But I have to go home."
"Then come home with me!"
"I-I wish I could."
The human couldn't take it any longer, he couldn't watch Zim fly off into space and never return to him. "Please, Zim, Don't leave me!" He pleaded.
The Invader lowered his head as his ship landed in front of the couple. "I'm truly sorry." Zim said, with a kiss, before he climbed into his ship.
Dib watched in horror as the ship flew away, never to return. "No Zim!" He shouted. "Don't leave me! Please, don't leave me!"
-
Zim sat in his ship, as he watched Dib become smaller and smaller. "Dib." He said, pressing his hand on the window.
"My master looks sad. What's wrong?" Gir said, in his sweet voice.
"I miss him already." The Invader said when he could no longer see the earth.
-
"It's not fair!" Dib shouted as he pushed all of the books and papers off his desk. "It's not fair." Dib fell to knees and began to cry.
"Dib." A familiar voice said, as a shadow figure stood in his doorway.
"Gaz?" The boy sniffed, not wanting to show his weakness.
"It-It will be all right." She said as she made her way to her brother. Gaz never understood Dib and Zim's relationship, until now. Having her brother cry on her shoulder as she stroked his back. Hearing him repeating the Invader's name over and over again. She finally understood. They couldn't be apart, they needed each other. Zim was the only person that ever loved Dib and now he was gone.
