Chapter 1 - Mental anguish
Chapter 1 - Mental anguish
The pain of so many years with unshed tears
Watching and hearing the words come
Watching and hearing the beatings, the cry tearing from salty lips
Wet from tears
Seeing a tame animal turn into the most hideous of creatures
With blood shot eyes and teeth barred
Nights where the pillow is the only one to confide in
And where the pillow at dawn is wet
The tears do come slipping from tightly shut eyes
No one sees the little girl crying in the corner
Her pale face held between slender hands
She is curled up in a ball hopping and wishing that
This is all a bad dream and that with the dawn
The scene before her red rimmed puffy
Eyes disappear and everything is all right
But every time, time and time again the scene never
Leaves her the scene is still there
It is then she realizes that this nightmare is her life
And that everything is mental anguish
Everything is mental anguish and mental anguish is everything
