Chapter 1 - The Moon Runners

“The Moon Runners”

The ripples in the water begin to simmer.

His glossy nose raises to the heavens

And breathes a soft, melodic song to the glowing orb in the night sky.

The shaggy fur glistens from the reflection of the moon on the stream.

And another song is heard from the clearing.
Distant first,

But grew so immense it touched the souls of the Gods,

Whom did the harmonious songs of the moon runners enchant.

But not a word was understood.

The leaves rustled as the worn paw kissed them

And the water is shaken back into the stream.

The runner takes flight into the dark, foggy wood,

And is heard howling the sweet melody of the moon.
