A Missing Piece



My happy spirit is gone,

it left with my heart.

I stored everything inside it,

now I've fallen apart.

There is an empty space,

it wont go away,

it makes me so sad I want to leave this place.

I'm searching for another

to share their heart with me,

so we can be together,

and fill that hole and set me free.

It'll let me go from holding on

to what I cant get back, from what is gone.

I need to move on, I need a new life,

I need a reason to get over this strife.

The only thing that can fix it

is someone with a whole heart,

who's willing to lend me a part.

Part of his life, truth, and freedom

otherwise, I'll just, cry and wish

I could leave him.

But I can't because part of me is always gone.

Until I find that piece that's missing,

I'll just sit here crying and wishing

I never gave that piece away
