Chapter 1 - Conflicting Loyalties
Conflicting Loyalties

A lone boy contemplates the name.

His blue-green eyes burn intensely like flames.

His snow white hair dancing around on the untamed wind.

Far away a girl of darkness does the same.

Her crimson eyes shining in the moonlight like blood-red rubies.

Her ebony hair flutters and dances around her

like black ribbons in the wind

Both sacrifice all for their cause, but feel the same.

Why is this feeling of longing, of regret?

To bow before a mighty ruler and do their bidding,

Is that not a just cause?

Some say they are evil, the villains of this story.

Yet others say they are heroes, the light in this endless dark.

What defines good from evil, what judgment can I pass on them?

Am I too a child of darkness?

Should I too be shunned, exiled from this world?

Even thought I choose the side deemed as good.

That does not make me a hero to everyone, in your eyes.

If in your eyes I am evil,

What does that make you?
