Chapter 1 - "Just Let Me Be"

You treat me like I have no mind,
As if I'll be senseless for all of time!
You try to argue me all the way down,
But I will stand up, and not be drowned.
You can say what you want, and think what you think,
You can push me with strength, but I will not sink.
These beliefs that I have, are but my own,
So don't put down others for my morales alone.
Never say that you've 'dug me in a hole',
For I will always jump out, no matter what the toll.
I am a free spirit, and I do have a mind,
Don't push me around, and I will be kind.
I have my own views and have easily debated,
But what is the point, when we're all opinionated?
Yet that's not my message, it's to leave me alone.
If I'm going to hell, keep it to yourself.
Let me be who I want without your consent,
Just free me from this bind; let go; relent.
I know that I'm not stupid, slow, or weak,
So don't tell me that I am, or else I may believe.
Then you'll have pushed me all the way down,
Made me senseless and on the ground.
Unless you enjoy seeing others suffer,
I say you let me be, and give me time to be tougher.
You say I get angry over useless little things,
Well you pushed this on me, you crushed me with your chains and rings.
But since you enjoy it so much,
I guess I will let you do it to me.
I will let you force me to die,
I will let you make me seriously think of suicide.
And if that's what you want,
Continue you're actions.
It's obviously working to your satisfaction.
Because I have thought of suicide,
Planned it all out.
I could easily go through with it all,
And if that's what you want,
Continue on.
Or,
you could just let me be.
