Chapter 1 - Weeee

Shadow sighed as he closed his eyes and beat his head against a tree. “I’ve got to stop… I can’t take this!” He said to himself, hating a feeling that had grown inside of him. Every time he looked at Sonic, or even heard his voice, be it over the phone, he felt his stomach twist and turn in unimaginable ways. It always made his heart beat faster and made him feel uneasy, his hands sweating and his face turning red.

He sighed as he sank to his knees, his ears drooping immensely as he clawed at the bark of the tree. “Damn it.. What is this? A sickness?” He asked himself confusedly with another sigh, a deep tone of sadness in this one. His ears flickered as he heard soft footsteps approaching.

“Shadow? What’s wrong?” A soft voice asked from behind, curious emerald eyes gazing down at the black hedgehog. Shadow’s ears shot up at the voice and his head snapped around, but he winced as he put a hand on his neck and winced lightly to himself. ‘Ow..’ He thought.

Sonic’s ears flickered lightly and he kneeled beside the dark creature, moving his hand and putting a hand on Shadow’s neck, rubbing it gently. “Are you alright?” He asked softly. Shadow’s face flushed a dark red. “Uh.. Y-Yea.. I just.. Uh.. Just turned around too fast is all..” He stammered.

“… Why don’t you come to my house and relax just so we can be sure.. Ok?” He asked with a soft smile, still rubbing the dark creature’s neck. Shadow’s ears flickered, since he had never been to the blue hedgehog’s house and this only made his face darken. “Um.. I-I don’t think it’s that bad..” He stammered.

Sonic couldn’t help but chuckle lightly at the ebony hedgehog’s face. “Well, I don’t want to take any chances.” He said as he got up and then helped Shadow up. “Come on.. I don’t live too far from here..” He said softly and began to walk, finally taking his hand back.

Shadow nodded reluctantly and followed the azure hedgehog. He kept his gaze down during what felt like a long walk, so he had no idea as to which ways they had gone. When he heard Sonic clear his throat, he raised his head to see a house not too far away. In front of it was a large stream with clean water. Small patches of flowers were scattered around the home and the surrounding tree’s provided plenty of shade.

The ebony furry couldn’t help but smile softly at the sight. ‘Such a beautiful home.. He’s so lucky..’ He thought as the two started for the small abode. He looked around the area, listening to the crackling of the water and the wildlife surrounding them. ‘I’ve never been around here before..’ He thought.

Sonic opened the front door once they got there and let Shadow in first. “Thanks.” He said to the blue creature before beginning to look around. Blue.. A soft, baby blue coated the walls. A beautifully crafted wood coffee table sat in the center of the living room surrounded by two comfy looking, blue couches. There was no TV, only a fireplace.

The entrance to what seemed to be a kitchen could be seen before the beginning of a hall. Along the hallway were three doors. Since the house wasn’t too big, Shadow suspected that one of them had to be a bedroom and another had to be a bathroom.

“Alright, Shadow.. Let me give you a little tour.. It’s not much, but I call it home..” Sonic said with a smile as he began to walk away and started to Shadow the ebony furry around. It took them only a few minutes. The final door had revealed to be a walk in closet, filled with extra supplies like blankets, pillows, etc.

“… How come you don’t have anything electric?” Shadow asked meekly as they returned to the living room. During the tour, the closest thing he noticed that Sonic had to electricity were candles.

“Well, I can’t really get anything out here.. I mean, do you see any power sources anywhere?” The blue hedgehog asked with a light chuckle. “You want anything to eat?” He asked softly. Shadow sweat dropped, feeling like a complete idiot. “N-No thanks..” He said as he walked over and sat on a couch, closing his eyes.

“Alright.. I’m going to make some hot chocolate..” Sonic said with a smile as he walked into the kitchen. You could hear things being shuffled around. Shadow sighed to himself. ‘I’m such an idiot..’ He thought irritatedly to himself.

After a couple of minutes, Sonic came back with two mugs of hot chocolate. “Here.. You said you didn’t want any, but oh well..” Sonic chuckled as he handed Shadow the mug. “Eheh.. Thanks.. I’m sorry to trouble you.. I should just leave..” Shadow said, looking at Sonic.

“Nonsense, Shadow.. I’m glad you’re here..” He said softly, taking a sip of his steamy, hot chocolate. Shadow’s face flushed once more as he just looked into his cup before taking a drink himself. “It’s good..” He said with a smile.

Sonic looked up at the ebony creature and laughed, noticing he had a mustache of whipped cream on his upper lip. He reached over and wiped it off with his finger, then licked it off with his finger. “Yummy..” He chuckled.

Shadow’s face was a dark red as he just looked down at his drink. “Eheh..” He chuckled nervously, his hand trembling lightly. ‘Oh god.. It’s happening again..’ He thought worridly, closing his eyes as he tried to stop it, but failed.

“Shadow? Are you ok?” Sonic asked softly, looking at the onyx creature with a worried look, thinking he was becoming sick or something along those lines. He blinked when Shadow shook his head. “Are you sure?” He asked once more.

“Yea, Sonic.. I-I’m perfectly fine..” He obviously lied, trying to get the trembling to die down and the blush to disappear. “Are you sure? Know what? Just to be sure, you’re staying the night…” Sonic said with a smile.

Shadow’s ears shot up. “B-But I honestly-“ He said until the azure creature cut him off. “No but’s, Shadow.. You can take my room, alright? And no rejections…” He laughed with a large smile.

“Uh… Okay.. Thanks..” Shadow said meekly, looking into his cup once more and blushing still. Sonic smiled at Shadow’s expression as he looked out of a window, looking at the reflection of the two with a warm smile.

“Shadow? Can I show you one of my favorite places to go?” Sonic asked softly, turning his attention back towards the ebony creature, knowing the best place to take him. Shadow’s ears twitched and he looked up at Sonic. “Um.. Sure..” He said, quickly drinking the rest of his hot chocolate and wiping the left over substance.

Sonic smiled as he took the empty mug and placed the two cups on the table as he stood. “Come on..” He said with a soft smile, holding his hand out to help Shadow up. The dark creature blushed but took it, having Sonic gently and gracefully pull him up to his feet.

“Heh… Close you’re eyes, alright?” Sonic said with a small… Smirk. Shadow raised a brow but closed his eyes at the sight of the smirk, knowing if he looked at the other, his face would have flushed furiously. His fur stood on end when he felt arms wrap around him, taking him off of the ground.

He felt wind rushing through his fur, not sure of what was going on. Soon it stopped and felt himself being stood up. “Alright..” a soft voice said. Shadow slowly opened his eyes and found that the two of them were in the middle of a large, cherry blossom tree circle.

Beautiful petals danced in the wind around the two, Shadow looking around in awe. “It’s.. Beautiful..” He whispered, smiling as he looked back at Sonic with a soft look. Sonic had a… loving smile on his face as he looked into Shadow’s eyes. “Yea, it is..” He said softly.

Shadow’s face flared up as he accidentally looked into Sonic’s eyes, unable to look away. “Shadow, when you look at me, what do you feel like?” Sonic asked, walking a little closer to Shadow. The ebony creature’s face darkened and he continued to gaze into the other’s eyes, as if he were in a trance. “Well.. I, uh…. My stomach tightens.. My face turns red, feeling like it’s being heated.. My body also trembles, and.. Things like that..” He whispered meekly.

Sonic smiled to himself, now about 2 inches away from Shadow, holding his hands. “Good…” He whispered. “Then I’m sure you’ll like this..” He said softly before connecting lips with the ebony creature.

Shadow’s eyes widened and he froze for a minute, but his eyes slowly closed and he slowly wrapped his arms around Sonic, as the blue hedgehog did the same. The two remained like that for a good while before pulling away and looking into each other’s eyes.

“Shadow, what you feel is love.. It’s the same thing I feel..” He whispered softly. Shadow blinked confusedly but smiled. “Love, huh?” He asked, blushing lightly. “Yea.. Shadow… I love you..” Sonic whispered softly, giving Shadow another quick, soft kiss on the lips. Shadow smiled warmly, returning it.

“I love you too..”
