Chapter 10 - The REAL end

This time it IS the end.

"Look?" Chris repeated. "Who would really care about what you look like?

Anyone who does is just superficial and not worth getting upset over."

Kai stated, "It's not what I think of myself, it's what others think in

this case. If my true form isn't sealed, almost everyone I meet either runs

or tries to kill me."

"Well, I understand. I am used to others running away from me," Chris

replied. "And a few attempts have been made on my life, but for different

reasons." He looked forward again, placing his hands behind his head.

Kai sighed again and stared at her hands. She said, "I don't want to

remember what happened right before I figured out how to seal my true form.

It's weird how the things you want to forget stay in your mind."

"Yeah. There's plenty of stuff I wish I didn't remember. Just as there's

plenty of stuff I'm sure I want to remember that I can't," Chris replied.

"Quite ironic, isn't it?"

Kai looked around. She said, "Very ironic. Just as this forest, so full of

beauty and life, was hiding Team Rocket's newest hideout."

Chris nodded. "Yeah. Well, at least we don't have that to worry about any

more. Their leader's gone now, so there's nothing more to worry about from

them." He looked to his right, at Latias, for a short while before looking

straight ahead again, stuffing his hands into his pockets.

Kitty floated over to Chris and landed on his head, squeaing, "Meeeew!"

(Yaaay!) Kai laughed at the sight of the black kitten Pokemon sitting on

the boy's head. She then said, "Okay, then... if Kitty likes you that much,

I'm definently following you. Not like a stalker or anything..."

Chris rolled his eyes upward, looking at the Mew, laughing slightly, before

looking at Kai. "Yes. Definitely not as a stalker. I've had enough of

that," he joked. "Don't ask," he added. Latias flew closer to the others,

smiling. "Well, then. What do we do now?" she asked, looking at Chris, who

shrugged an "I don't know" then pulled his right hand out of his pocket and

looked at the tattoo of XIII he had ever since first being taken by Team

Rocket.

Kai walked forwards a little bit. She said, "I found the road," then walked

to the said road.

"Finally. That forest is larger than it seems," Chris said, emerging a few

seconds later, followed by Latias.

Kai looked at Chris. She asked, "So, which way are you going?" Kitty hopped

off of Chris's head and flew next to Latias.

"Don't know," Chris answered, pulling out a 10 PokéYen coin. "Depends on

the flip of this coin. Heads, I go that way--" he pointed in the direction

to his right-- "Tails, I go the other way." He flicked the coin into the

air very high, looking up. A couple of seconds passed without it landing.
"I think you threw it too high," Latias noted, also looking up.
"No I didn't. See?" Chris replied, as the coin came back into view, quickly

landing in his outstretched hand, which automatically closed around it.
"Well?" asked Latias, as Chris opened his hand, revealing that the coin had

landed heads.
"Well, I guess I'm going that way," he said, turning to the direction he

had specified.

Kai nodded and said, "Well then, me too. My reason being? I suspect Kitty

would sneak off to follow you if I didn't."

"Yeah, I suppose that would be a pretty good reason," Chris replied,

looking back at her for a moment.

Kai said nothing, but instead waited for Chris to do something. Kitty

floated over to Katana and sat next to the bird Pokemon.

Chris lifted up his right hand, the back side towards Kai. "Come on. If

we're going we probably should be moving on. Can't stay in one place too

long, y'know? There's a pretty good chance of getting ambushed if we do."

He put his hand down to his side and continued on.

Kai watched Chris walk off. As much as she wanted to follow him... "Kitty,

return." The black Mew dissappeared into the Pokeball and she got on her

Pidgeot's back. The bird Pokemon flew off, circling the area a few times.

Kai hastily scribbled a note and dropped it as Katana flew over Chris. The

note read, "Goodbye. I'll see you again if you ever stop by the Johto

region. -Kai"
