10 years later...

Out in the middle of s grassy field laid a 16-year-old boy, Tai. He was lying down; watching the clouds roll by and feeling the wind blow in the long, black hair. On the right side of his mouth, sticking out was a piece of grass. He had his hands behind his head and he was slightly chewing on the piece of grass.
“Tai?� someone yelled. “Tai, where are you?�
“Huh?� Tai said and sat up quickly. He looked behind him and saw his little sister, Melanie, running though the field, towards him. “Mel? What are you doing here?�
“Mommy’s going out and you’ve gotta watch me!� Melanie said.
“Aww mom!� Tai said quietly to himself and he flopped back down on his back in the grass.
“What’s wrong, Tai?� Melanie said. “Dontcha wanna watch me while mom goes out?�
“Of course I do, Mel, but…� Tai said, “she always dumps you with me without even asking me if I’m doing anything!�
“Oh,� Melanie said.
Tai sat back up and faced Melanie. “But its okay,� Tai said, trying to keep Melanie from becoming sad. “Come here and lie down with me.�
Melanie ran over to Tai and sat down next to him. “So, what were you doing over here?� she asked.
“Thinking,� Tai replied.
“ ‘Bout what?� Melanie asked.
“Stuff,� Tai replied.
“What stuff?� Melanie asked.
“Never mind,� Tai said. “This is just where I come to think or to get away from everything.�
Melanie layed down and looked at the clouds. “Hey,� she said, pointing to a cloud to her right, “that cloud looks like mom scolding you.� She laughed.
“Hey!� Tai stated, “…wait,� he laughed, “it does!�
They both laughed.
“Wait a minute,� Tai said, “Where’d you learn such a big word?�
“What ‘big’ word?� Melanie asked.
“Scolding,� Tai stated. “That’s a pretty big word for a five year old, you know.�
“Mommy told me,� Melanie said. “She said that she scolds you way to much and she’s getting tired of it!�
“Good!� Tai said. “I’m getting tired of her always yelling at me anyways!�
Melanie laughed quietly.
“Lets see,� Tai said, looking back at the clouds, “hmm… hey! That one looks like a wolf.�
“Cool!� Melanie said. “I love wolves!�
“I know, I know!� Tai stated.
“Hey Tai,� Melanie said.
“Yeah?� Tai asked.
“Do you think I could ever own my own wolf?� Melanie asked, still watching the cloud that looked like a wolf.
“Maybe,� Tai said.
He sat up and shook the grass out of his hair. “C’mon, I’ll race you back to the house,� he said, standing up.
“Okay!� Melanie said quickly. She quickly turned over and got up really fast and ran.
“Hey! No fair!� Tai said. “You cheated.�
“Can’t catch me!� Melanie taunted.
“Oh yeah?� Tai yelled and ran after her.
