Chapter 1 - Untitled
Carried Home
Creased, bent, and speared,
Battered and scarred,
Length sheared.
Intersecting dents,
Blotchy, scratched up nail,
Filled in by the boredom,
Pulled away with strength.
Powerful with purpose,
Wondering with reason,
Doing what they must;
Never promising trust.
Grasping, clutching, pleading...
Begging for one more chance,
Speeding down the black and white,
With the memory to advance.
Choked with metallic chains,
Held for warmth and help,
Soaked to kill invading life,
Shoved away into caves of shadows.
Shown to portray character,
Left to obey their master,
Known to mind only themselves,
Drumming faster...and faster...
Splattered with genius,
Developed through dust,
Creative and compelling,
Continually...
Dragging them home,
Sleepy, collected bone.
