OK, so I FINALLY found a link to the random tweet from the random guy from Sega that said Sonic Boom wouldn't be replacing the main Sonic series this week. If you believe a random guy. :/
Considering Sega BURIED this information where only twitter junkies and truly dedicated fans who will scour the internet for news would find it, I think that says something about how much (or little) they care, so maybe my incessant ranting and posting a related story chapter still serves a purpose, though a tiny bit misinformed. (since I DID eventually find the news, I still count myself a dedicated fan. I just won't touch twitter with a 39 1/2 foot pole)
I refuse to stand by and let everything old be replaced by crappy new things just because of this insane mantra that old is automatically bad and new is automatically better. That just goes to show how stupid and easily manipulated we are as a society today. I can sit here and think up examples all week, but I have better things to do.

At least Sonic's still Sonic for a while. Just don't expect me to be real incredibly supportive of Sonic Boom right from the off... Don't wan't Sega to pull a "Sonic Boom did SO MUCH BETTER that that's all we're gonna do after all!"
