Blog Entry: World of GeneX - Patch the Fox
Patch is a multi-colored fox with the Covenant of Despair. His head is yellow, his ears are blue, his eyes and tail are green, and the end of his tail is cyan. When not wearing his despair uniform, it can be seen that his primary fur color is actually purple, with red chest fur. He wears orange shoes, and his muzzle is a normal white color.
Patch is a crazed fox who joined the Covenant of Despair out of a general hatred of humanity. His multi-colored body is the result of his early life as a laboratory animal. This could also be the cause of his occasional giddy laughter for no apparent reason: "Hee hee!"
He is one of the earliest known recruits of the Covenant of Despair, appearing in GeneX stories as early as the Halloween Special, GeneX - The Black Curse, where he acted as a crazed, knife-wielding killer. He was soon killed himself, and became a murderous ghost. It is important to note that the Halloween Specials are set in an alternate reality, however.
He has also made cameo appearances in GeneX: the Series and GeneX Generations before finally becoming a recurring character in GeneX - Knuckles the Echidna. He is a "friend" of Rainbow's sister, Violet the echidna, and certainly enjoys his work the most. His trademark weapon is nunchucks, which have retractable blades hidden in the handles. Fortunately, despite his crazed and violent nature, he is not very strong or very bright, making him one of the less dangerous agents of the Covenant of Despair. Just don't get too close.

Patch first appeared in one of a series of old sprite comics I did called "Sonic Blooper Theater." In it, he was depicted as one of several foxes auditioning for the role of Copter. Another was Kosmo's fox form, lol. This makes him the first Covenant of Despair member created, actually.
Yeah, I needed members for this organization, so I decided to take that goofy old "Rainbow-fox" design. Looks better in uniform than out of uniform, I think. For added humor, his RPG sprite is animated with his eyeballs spinning XD
By the way... IS there a non-plural way to say nunchucks? I think it's nunchaku, but that sounds too foreign. Is there a western form for it? Patch only uses one set... err, y'know... two handles hooked by a chain. That's what throws me.
Anyway, none of the Despair agents really have a lot of history, but I'm gonna try to do a couple articles for them anyway. Some, like Patch, have been around a few years. But some still have a degree of backstory to be revealed. Even Patch, I had to put in a number of things that actually haven't been in the story yet. (I figure it's not that big a surprise that he's a lab animal, given how he looks) So, I'll only do a couple Despair articles for now. That'll still cover 2 months.
