Defend

There are few people in this world that make me want to go into attack mode. I shrug off most topics and people, so it's really few. Some of you might guess that those are people I particularly dislike, but that couldn't be further from the truth. I'm talking about people I love.

I don't believe in bittersweet love where you claim to care, but wish for change. That's loving an image, not a person. It's fine waiting for the one that matches your imagination, but not ok to try to mold someone into it. Walk away from those you don't like, but if you care for someone, care for what they are, not for what you wish they were.

Going back to my initial statement, by now you must have figured out that these people would not be the targets of my less than nice side, but they're still the fastest to bring it out under certain circumstances: they're the ones I would defend.

Sometimes I want to say something that would truly bother those who bother my dear ones. I'm good at coming up with mean things to say, regardless of if it's my general opinion or not, I want to be overly critical in that kind of situation. Yet to avoid collateral damage, bothering someone who isn't directly involved or even making it worse for the one I'm defending. I sometimes settle for a little misdirection of fire.

It's funny, because in RPGs I'm usually the mage and it's the tank's job to wave the flag of war and be the invincible wall... But that's ok, because I'm pretty good with Shell and Protect.
