I've been meaning to talk about track but haven't gotten the time to do it. ^~ The season started a little while ago and I've already been to two meets but none of them are league meets yet. Track is probably my favorite sport because I'm so good at it and I don't have to rely on someone to do something (unless you're in a relay). ^~
My first meet was at De La Salle in the bay area of California and we had to drive from Crescent City (which is sort of at the borderline of Oregon and California) all the way down towards San Francisco. Long drive but we stayed at a hotel and the next day we went to the meet. I compete in all jumping events (except pole vault because it scares me a little) High Jump, Long Jump, and Triple Jump so I did those and I also did the 4 by 200 meter relay. I got 1st in long jump, 2nd in triple jump, 3rd in high jump, and 5th in the 4 by 200 relay. I got medals and everything so I was happy. ^^ (i was in JV though so I didn't compete in Varsity)
My other meet is a different story. I was headed for Fortuna. (the place a despise so much in the athletic department) Their track is really bad and so is their basketball gym but let's not even get into that. ^^ I went there and it was cold and windy like always but when I went to long jump I scratched (stepped over the line) my first two jumps by at least two inches so I moved back almost three feet on my final jump and i ended up slowing down and jumping two feet behind the board and got a 12 foot jump. (for the record that is terrible for me because I usually jump between 14' 5'' and 15') Then in triple jump my marks were all messed up and I ended up scratching all three of my jumps so I didn't even qualify for the rankings. (that made me the most upset because I'm really good at triple jump and can jump 30+ feet) I then went to high jump and the opening hight was 4'4'' and I cleared that on my second try which was bad and then when it came to 4'6'' I couldn't get over it and i've done it in the past. So I placed very low in that event. Finally it came to my dreaded 800 meter dash. (half a mile) I got fifth in that which was ok considering it was my first time running it in a meet so yeah.
That's my track history so far. I'll try to keep updating . . . that is if anyone is willing to read them. I don't really care, I just like talking about it. ^^ So I applaud you for getting this far and hope you stay tuned for my next blog coming next week because my first league meet is next Wednesday and it's my only home meet so that should be a big plus. ^^ Thanks again!!!!!!
