your art is amazingly fantastic!!! I was wondering how you do the cloth bleaching and how you get the different colors and stuff I commented on a few of your pictures but it says you haven't been on here since November 2009 and I'm hoping that you will come back and make more amazing art and answer my questions? thank you and hope you get this :)

Yeah, I always dilute the bleach. Probably about 5 to 10 parts water to bleach, depending on the picture and how resilient the shirt is. But the best way to keep a shirt from tearing is to keep a fairly dry brush. If you have a lot of bleach in your brush, it will seep through the shirt and make the material quite weak even when dilute. Ideally, the bleach should never get through to the inside of the shirt. You'll know it's right if, when you turn the shirt inside out, there's nothing to see (although that doesn't often happen). You'd probably find that dilution and a dry brush make it generally easier to control the bleach and get more detail as well.

The colour is no great secret, although I wish it was. All the yellows and oranges and whites come straight from the bleach. It's just that different fabrics go different colours when bleached, which I think is pretty exciting. For the ones that have red in them as well I simply use a red marker. It comes out a bit in the wash, but I don't mind wearing a little pink. And don't mind asking questions, I can't often get people interested in bleach!
