"We'll pay the coin for however much you have left." The man said, as he added the other coins to the case before pushing the lid back on. "Rooting on you two, be nice to see Karina slumming it for a week." He pushed the case aside. The dealer tapped the side of the deck against the table twice before he started to flick out the cards.

"Flattery won't make me go easy on you." Karina laughed, picking up her cards.

"Ah, poker? I think I remember how to play." Lina said with a smile as she met Kenu's gaze.

Holding his right hand over the candle the flames burst up suddenly, curling around his fingers. Garail closed his hand into a fist and the flames died down. Twisting his hand around he unfurled his fingers, a purple wisp hovered an inch above his palm. "I does not matter why, the power is yours." He said, casting his pale eyes down at her. "What is important, is what you choose to do with it. With proper training, with only a breath escaping your breast entire could be cities reduced to ash and bone, seas boiled, and mountains ground to dust." Images flickered in the wisp as he spoke. "But you don't seem the type for wholesale destruction."

"Oh, the pleasure has been mine. Feel free to drop by anytime." Karl said with a wave of his hand. Shal nodded as he picked up his packs. 

"Aye." Shal said, "good health, bright coin." He added as he stepped out of the building.

"Same to you, old friend."

Brushing her bangs aside with her fingers, her eyes slid across the room. Longer than it was wide, two windows on the left wall, a round table in the center, with three men sitting on the far side. The man in the middle, tall with burnt skin, his eyes cast down as he shuffled the deck of cards. The man to his left reached out and plucked up the nearest coin, he inspected it for a moment before picking the other coins up. "These'll be fine, can always trade'm off to some merchants heading North." He lifted the lid off a worn case and placed the coins in. He counted out six stacks of well used chips and pushed two stacks in front of three empty chairs. "Five white to one brown, two brown to a yellow." He said, as he started to count out other stacks.

"Chips?" the man with the deck said, pushing a stack of coins to his left.

"Easier than converting all the money." 

The thin man on the dealer's right chucked. "Good at poker 'eh? Well maybe you'll be able to clean out Karina then." There was the sharp scrape as Karina pulled the chair out with her foot.

"You're just mad I own your favorite shirt, Yev." She said lightly, sitting down. Lina looked up at Kenu, the corners of her lips curling upwards as she took her seat.
 
"Yeah, yeah." Yev said, pushing his coins to the left.

"That is good to hear." Garail watched Kiara fidget with her dress for a few moments before stepping into the room. "Lord Tyran always treats his guests well." He paused next to her, leaned over her as he picked up the candle. Rolling it between his fingers, he examined the wick. "A child of Hunger is a... rare thing." He said absently, he ran a finger up the candle, a lavender flame springing forth as he passed the wick. "Once you have control of your gift, what is it you hope to do with it?" He raised the flame to his lips and blew, an illusionary flame expanded out before him, curling inwards upon itself before fading away.

Shal folded his clothes carefully, pressing them flat before placing them into his pack. Next was an assortment of dried meats and traveling bread. Not the best tasting but it served as food when everything else had run low. A short carving knife and a tin of whetstones were next, and a worn map was placed on top. He closed the pack and slung it over his shoulder. He picked up several other packs before stepping out of the bedroom into Karl's store.

"Finally heading off?" Karl said, leaning on his counter.
 
"Aye." Shal said, placing several packs at the front door.

"Ah, guess it'll get quieter around here, was like having too newlyweds for a while." he said. Shal grinned as he leaned against the door frame.

"I do apologize for any noise." He chuckled.

"Ha, you apologize? Never thought the day would come." Karl laughed. "Anyway, you two travel safe, heard from some soldier friends about raiders to the East, along the Hollows." 

Shal nodded, "thanks." he said, glancing over his shoulder.

(I say yay!)(So, let's figure out what we want to do with Akade and Ariana)

I believe the plan was for Ariana to also be pulled into the fold, She had a lesser nobleman who knows Tyran is gathering mages


As for Ash and Shal, I forget most of what was going on with them, I remember that her children were to be exceptional mages

"Poker." Karina said and Lina took a seat next to Kenu. 
"Aye, you can bet coin or any belongings." A thin guard with black hair chimed in. 

Grail rapped two knuckles against Kiara's door, three quick hits he repeated twice. He waited only until he heard the tussle of movement, before he turned the door knob and pushed the door open. He passed through the doorway, his pale eyes slowly moving across the room. Lightly furnished, all craftsman pieces Lord Tyran had ordered moved into the room Kiara was given. No mess, no clutter of personal belongings, a faint smile curved the edges of his lips upward.
"I do hope you have rested." He said, his eyes turning towards Kiara.

In hope that you shall someday return from real life, Roleplayer Guild was the site you recommended, right?

Two of the guards at the table glanced over at Lina stepped into the room. One of them chuckled. 
"Wha'd you rope some fresh blood in?" One of them asked, turning towards Karina. The woman smiled.
"Yup, hope none of you mind." She replied. A few of the guards grunted but otherwise gave no response. 

(Well that's not good D:)

"Thank you." Lina said with a smile as she started towards the door.

"Alright, sounds good." Lina said, looking around as well. 

(Alright, sleep tight and good luck at work!)

(Some form of poker probably, haven't put much thought into card games of this universe)

With a nod Lina stood up. "Yes let's!" She said with a bright smile. 

"I'm sure I can pick it up quickly enough." She said with a light smile.
(Well, she is good a picking out liars, so she should be good at gambling.)

"Well um... I know a few games, but probably not the one they'll be playing." She said.

"It'll be fun kid." Karina said with an easy smile. "We play in a private room over there. Hope to see you to." She gestured towards the door before she walked off. She paused mid way and looked back. "Oh and if you ordered anything to eat, tell Lisa and she'll bring it to you."

"Ah... Ok." Lina said, as she looked back to Kenu. 

"Cards?" Lina echoed looking up at Karina. 
"A friendly game, you can come a win a few coins from a few dull guards. We always play a few hands after our shift is up." Karina said. 

She leaned against the side of the chair. "For the meal and cider." She said with a light chuckle. "I do have a brain between my ears you know, and I can figure out a hint. So, I figured I'd invite you to a friendly game of cards. Your sister can join too if she wants."

"It's a story about when she..." Lina trailed off as Karina approached. 
"I hope I'm not interrupting, but I didn't have a chance to properly thank you." Karina said, stopping next to Lina's chair. 

(Names are great things)

"Tales and fables mostly... Um... A lot of old deeds." She shifted slightly in her seat. "I was just reading one about Truth."
Karina (She has a name!) stretched as she walked into the room. Her hair, still damp, was pulled into a loose tail, and she wore a loose shirt with trousers which had been cut away above the knees. Her pale eyes scanned the room quickly and a wide smile crossed her lips when she saw Kenu.  

(Yeah sure, that sounds good)

"I would like some beef stew and what ever you have good to drink." Lina said with a light smile. 

(Hum, want to have some fun? I can have the female  guard show up again)

"Sounds good!" She said brightly, closing the book. "I think I saw a barmaid over there." She said, pointing. 

"Ah, no not yet, I was waiting for you." She said with a small smile.

"Oh, it's nothing too exciting, just a collection of old stories about the gods." She said, her eyes shifting down towards the book. 

Lina smiled lightly and looked up as Kenu sat down. "Hello, did you have a nice bath?" She asked, resting a book on her left knee.

(Either way is fine by me)

(Hm... Can't think of anything beyond just some lulz stuff, so I guess we can move on)

(Yes, I believe we did have things planned. Ariana was going to get dragged into it because she was also one of the Children)(And Ashlin and Shal had the child that the Children of Fear could sense) 
(Yeah it's going well enough, how's it going with you?)

The female guard grinned. "Heh, made my night really." She said, slipping her leather trousers off and placing them with the rest of her armor. She tied a towel around her waist and walked into the springs. 

(It's alright)

The female guard pulled a leather belt off her pants. "Have a closer eye kept on the Voices are their movements, much.... Harsher punishments to those that are caught stealing from the treasuries." 

"Hah, they should just hang the lot of them up by their ankles." One of the other guards chimed in as he walked towards the bath. 

(Happy New year!)

(The Voices are equivalent to our house of representatives.)
"There're always some new ones thinking they won't get caught." The woman said undoing her hair. She sighed and stretched. 

"That and all the cities like to keep scandals as quiet as possible, makes them just fester until they eventually leak out." A guard said kicking off his shoes and tossing them into a nook.

"Are the old royals still pressuring Taren to take a more heavy action against the voices?" The woman asked.

"Dunno. Wasn't really paying much attention to it all to be honest." the guard shrugged. 

"Hm? News? I hear the Imperials are having some big festival, their princess is returning back from the East." The woman said, pulling her shirt off.

"Ah, the Imperials always are having some festival." The other guard chuckled. "Heard some of the Voices are losing their jobs."

"What? Really?" The woman asked quickly.

"Yeah, they were skimming off the treasury." Another one added in.

With a small smile Lina slipped out of the room and walked to the dining area. 

"See much traffic tonight?" The woman asked, unbuckling her leather armor.

"Other than some merchants, nothing exciting, you guys?" The man said.

"A couple of kids, so nothing much." The woman  said rubbing her neck. "Damn that stuff is restrictive." She groaned. 

Lina sighed, "Alright." she said taking the coins. "take some time and relax, no reason to hurry on my account. Ok?" She said as she started to walk to the door.

"Ha, someone sent us some food and warm cider." A young female guard said removing a hard leather pauldron and tossing it into the nook.

"Hell really?" Another one called. "I was stuck freezing my @$$ off at north gate."

"Hah, would have been better if Lark didn't hog the only good cover all night, was down to using my shield to keep the rain off." the woman said, rubbing her shoulder. 

Lina quickly slipped her clothes on, bumping her shoulder on the side of the nook she let out a short curse. She rubbed her elbow. "I'm dressed." She mumbled. 

"Yes!" She said quickly pulling the towel around herself and hurrying into the changing room.

"Ah um... Ok!" She called back. She quickly scrambled out of the water, grabbed the towel and started to dry herself off as she inched towards the door.

Lina ran her fingers through her hair, using a lavender smelling liquid to clean it. She dipped her hair under the water to wash it out. She glanced back towards the door for a few seconds before dipping under the water again.

Lina dipped her head under the water, and slowly raised back up. She brushed her bangs out of her eyes and picked up a bar of soap on on the side of the bath. She washed herself off quickly and slipped into the water quickly to rinse herself off. 

The room was large, and the bath was a long rectangle with five pillars in the middle. Water ran down the pillars, which Lina assumed is what filled the bath. She pulled the towel off and placed it down on the side, and dipped her foot into the water. With a shrug she slipped in and sat down on the side. 

With a sigh Lina put her shirt away and tied a towel around her chest. "Fine." She said, pulling off her pants and walking into the bathing area.

"Ah um... N-no, you should still go first." She said quickly. "It wouldn't be good if you got sick from sitting around in wet clothes."

"S-shut up!" She said turning another shade of red. She slouched and stared at the floor.

Lina's cheeks flushed red and she held the shirt over her chest. "Oh um... I can wait until after you're done then." She said meekly. 

"As long as its clean I don't care." She said, placing her clean clothes in one of the nooks. She pulled off her shirt and started to fold it when she paused. "Ah um... wait, is this not separate?" She asked, looking over her shoulder at Kenu. 

Lina laughed lightly as she stopped outside the bathing area. "I think this is it." She said, stepping into the changing room.

"It's not too terrible but doesn't mean I'm not stiff and sore by the end of the day." She said stretching as she walked down the hall.

With another nod Lina walked to the door and down the stairs. "It'll be nice to relax after being on that horse for so long." She said turning down the hall Lewis had pointed towards earlier. 

With a laugh Lina nodded. "Yeah, a bath sounds lovely" she said brightly. Lina placed the pack down on the bed and pulled it open. "Here, come get a change of clothes." She said pulling out some clothes for herself. 

(Muwhehe)

Lina stepped into the room and looked around. The room was fairly large, with the bed centered on the far wall. "Ah that looks wonderful!" She said walking into the room. Several long bookshelves lined the walls. "Too bad we're only here for the night." she sighed.

(Alright! >:D)

"Ok brother!" She said brightly, following Kenu closely. She walked quickly, keeping clear of the puddles of water.

(*dance, dance, dance*)(I almost feel like, for the lulz this place only has a mixed bath)

"Naw, it'll be fine." Lewis said eyeing the trail of water. "only going to get worse when the night guard changes anyway." He pointed to a set of stairs. "Your room's up there to the left. Be careful not to slip." He said with a thin smile.
 

(*does a little dance*)

The man brushed the water off the counter with a wave of his hand. "It's included, but you should still give the chef a tip." he wiped his hand on his pants. "The food's that way and the bath is over there." The man added, gesturing as he spoke.

"Thank you." Lina said.

(Sweet!)

Lina smiled lightly and looked up at the man. He turned towards them and nodded. "Yeah, you two after a room?" the man asked.

"Yeah, the man out front said to ask for twenty-four?" Lina said.

"Mm." The man pulled open a drawer and pulled out a key. "Five silver a night, you pay when you leave." He said, holding the key out.

(+ 1 reader, whoo)

Lina chucked and slipped her arm through his. She pulled the hood back with her free arm, her bangs were plastered her her forehead. "I think you should have been under the cloak." She patted the bag. "And you should probably take a bath and change clothes before eating." She added with a sly smile.

"Tell Lewis up front you want room twenty-four." The man said pocketing the coin. Stepping past them the man walked down the steps. "He'll point you  towards the food as well." he added as he walked out of view.

"Thank you." Lina called after the man.

(Thanks for the vote of confidence)

"Ok." Lina said, slipping down off the saddle. She picked up one of the small packs and pulled it off the horse. She opened the pack a crack to check it, before closing it and slipping it around her shoulder. She quickly walked over to Kenu and stood under the porch's roof. 

"A chicken and rice soup, and some lean cuts of beef." He said, "Also the water in the baths have recently been changed, isn't terribly warm but it'll be clean."

"If you need anything else from the horse it'll be around back in the stables." Kien said, starting to lead the horse away.

(Why thank you, here's hoping I'll be able to get it done)

"Ok." Lina said, sliding forward in the saddle.

The man leaned forward on the railing. He eyed Kenu then up to Lina. "One room or two?" He asked motioning the other man towards the horse. "Kien'll take your horse to the stables."
 

(That's the plan)

"I think that's the one." Lina said, point to the inn. Two men sat in chairs by the entrance, one of them standing up as Lina and Kenu got close.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled. "Though, we might want to go somewhere more private."

(I've had a lot of fun building it :D)

"Follow the main road 'till the first intersection, take the first right. A few inns'll be there. I recommend the one with the red sword on the sign." She said pointing down the road.

"Thanks." Lina said.

"Enjoy your stay." The soldier said walking back to the other guard. 

Ariana returned the kiss softly and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Then how about we do spend some time..."

(So much lore)

Lina lifted her hood slightly and looks towards the guard. A pale miserable looking man standing under an overhang to keep out of the rain. A woman in her mid twenties holding a shield over her head walked over to the horse. "You two plan on staying in Alir long?" she asked.

She leaned, her lips almost brushing his. "You know, I feel as if we never have any time alone." She said softly.

Garail gave the closed door a long look before shaking his head. "That girl still has much to learn." He breathed, turning and starting down the hall.

(Alir, a city that provides most of the weapons and armor for the training soldiers at Vills)

With a pleasant smile Ariana placed a hand on his cheek and looked into his eyes. "I believe I made this your day to do whatever you wish." She said lightly.

"Viryn are a relic of the past, there are no monsters in that room. Rest assured." He said, placing his arms behind his back and a thin smile crossing his lips. "Now go and rest. You will need it."

(Yeah, that's probably good)

Lina held him slightly tighter. (Skip forward with them?)

With a light smiles Ariana nodded. "I apologize." She said, allowing him to guide her forward.

"He has taken a liking to you." Garail said, pushing a door open. "This is your room, if you need anything speak to one of the servants."

(Aw that sucks D:)

"Ah, that sounds like it will be wonderful." She said with a light smile.

"Oh, wonderful." Arina said, "just let me know if there is anything else you want me to do sir."
 
"Ah, before I forget, Lord Tyran asked that I move your room closer to his study. I had your items sent to your new room." He pushed open the door. "Shall I have you awoken when he returns?"

(Oh, it's delicious)

Lina shrugged. "We've been on the trail for a while, it would be nice to take a bath and sleep in a bed is all I'm saying."

"You asked me to be pretty." She said with a sly grin and a wink.

Garail studied her for several seconds before turning on his heel. "Come along." He said walking back to the doors they had entered though.

(Eh, I don't have much against winter)
(Fried rice with beef and chili garlic sauce.)

"Oh well that's good then, you should probably take a bath when we get  to the city then." Lina said.

"You think? And you were sounding so assertive a moment ago." She said with a light sigh.

"You, as a child of Hunger have many talents. And I have many tricks to draw them out." He waved his hand and the illusion of the hallow woods dissipated. "Viryn, even if they were real, are nothing to feel remorseful for killing. They are nothing more than creations of Fear."

(Yeah... You probably get a worse winter than I do)
(Hope you like Stir-Fry)

Lina laughed again. "I hope so, because I don't think the rain's going to stop anytime soon."

"Oh? Very good then." She said with a playful smirk, pulling at the collar of her shirt a few times. "I shouldn't let my talents go to waste should I?"

"Oh, that is quite simple really. I made you feel threatened and your body reacted to defend itself in the only way it knew how." His eyes followed hers as she swayed. "Look down and around you, you did this. This is your power. Well, one of them in any case."

(Yeah, it's really nice for when it starts to get below zeroish around here)
(Be back in a bit, off to find food)

"Ok, if that's what you want." Lina said with a light laugh. "Try to not catch a cold though"

"Much better suited for this?" Ariana asked, she placed a hand on the table and leaned towards him. "Now I don't know whether I should be offended or feel complimented."
 
"Burn them to cinders? Why yes, you did." He watched her, maintaining a faint smile. "Now you should feel proud, you have done well for someone so untrained and unrefined. I was hoping we could pull a few more of your many skills to the surface but we can work with what we currently have. I am sure your other talents will eventually begin to emerge as you learn to control your powers." Garail pushed himself up and dusted his hands off.
 

(Nice, all I have is a heavy duty winter one)

Lina pulled the cloak's hood up at the first of several large drops splattered to the ground around them. "Last chance, we can both probably squeeze under this cloak." She said quickly. The first drops hit her shoulders with heavy 'plops,' and a faint smile crossed her lips. "It's really nice and dry under here." She added.
 

"Well if that's what the boss wants, then I can do that." Ariana said with a sly smile. She placed a hand on her hip, "If this is all you got for me then today will be an easy day."


"So fire came first... Interesting."  He walked towards her, parts of the illusion morphing around him. Flames rushing along long vines, going from tree to tree. Garail paused for a moment to admire it, the heat of phantom flames licking at his cheeks. He paused as he reached Kiara, with a sight motion the three charred Viryn dissipated. Using the heel of his boot grind several of the fires out and make a space, he kneeled down next to Kiara. "Lord Tyran would be displeased if I broke you, I believe this will conclude our lesson for the day." He said resting a hand on his knee, a faint smile pulled across his lips.
"But, you have done well today. I will have the servants attend to the remainder of your duties so you may rest."

I just find mine too warm to wear most of the time

It isn't too bad, I get to wear my leather jacket. :D

 Kenu glanced up at the darkening sky, a worried expression coming to his dark eyes, "Aye, I agree I guess it does depend on who's doing the tickling." He nudged the horse into a slightly quicker pace. A small affectionate smile touched his lips as she leaned up against him.
 Akade arched a red brow a small smirk coming to his lips, "Yes, ma'am." He swung his bulky frame around and planted himself in the chair leaning back with the grace of a lazy cat. Crossing his legs and folding his hands behind his head as he looked up at her with a grin. 

 Kiara slumped down to the ground a soft sob coming to her throat as the sky darkened into night, the only light a tiny sliver of moonlight coming through the bare twisted gnarled branches. "P-Please.." the dark haired girl choked out. "P-Please don' t leave me here.."

 A thin, tall figure stepped out of the forest keeping too the shadows it knelt in front of her.

"My dear child whatever is the matter?" It's voice dripped as sweet as liquid honey. "There
is no reason for you to be frightened, few will harm you in the forest with me."

Kiara shied away before looking up, the figure before her though shadowed in dark was one of the most beautiful things she'd ever seen. Its face chiseled almost to perfection, so much that it made her want to cry at its beauty.

"I..I..." she blinked, she didn't even remember why she was upset, "I haven't a clue, actually."

"Well then, lets get you to a warm place eh? Don't want you freezing out here in the cold do we?" It's voice trickled deep inside her like the most amazing melody she'd ever heard. The being stood and held out a hand to her, "Come then, we must hurry the moon will be full soon."
Kiara frowned, the moon? What would that matter. A strange uneasy feeling struck her but as she looked back up it was gone as quickly as it had come. She took the hand offered her and was lead deeper into the woods.

 She tilted her head up, and ran her tongue along her pale lips. “Think we’re going to make it before the storm starts?”  Lina asked, as her eyes shifted forward following the trail as it curved towards a distant city.
 
Placing her right hand on her hip a light smile curled across her lips. “Glad to see you’re making yourself comfortable.” She said, leaning forward slightly. “Now then, what do you need me to do?” 

Garail leaned against the courtyard’s wall, his arms crossed. He watched as Kiara followed a Vyrin into the illusion. Just what stories has she been told? He tracked Kiara as the Vyrin lead her in a large circle around the courtyard as the illusion rapidly shifted before her.



(Ha ha, well welcome back in any case, I understand the business)(Yeah, that's pretty much what Vyrin are like)

Tilting her head up, Lina’s eye followed a branch of lightening as it arched between two dark clouds, sudden sporadic flashes raced across the sky heading eastward. She leaned back forward, resting on Kenu’s back, she laced her fingers together and rested her head on his left shoulder. “I guess… It would depend on who was ticking me.” She answered with a small shrug.
 
“Why yes, I hope it would.”  Ariana said with a pleasant smile. She placed her hands on either side of her chair and patted it lightly. “I say you’ve earned a bit of a break from all the hard labor Akade. Have a seat, boss’s orders.”
 
Garail narrowed his left eye as the flowerbeds withered. Leaves crumbled as they fell from twisting branches, gnarled snags tore through the ground, bare branches interweaving with the other trees. A thin mist trickled out from between trees, sticking low to the ground. He turned towards the girl, eyes wild caught in a moment of pure panic, heart pounding hard in her chest. A smirk curled across Garail’s lips as Kiara called out for his help, he looked back over his shoulder towards the trees.
“The Whispering Hollows… how, intriguing.” He breathed, as he returned is focus to Kiara.

Alright, hope your life calms down soon! And no-one murders you!

Murder is such a strong word I prefer 'slightly maim' 
Really, it's fine though, if you're busy you're busy, don't worry about it, it's how life goes.
Though it would be nice if you gave a short heads-up before hand just so I know someone didn't actually murder you <.<

"I guess on who's tickling me and why." She said with a light shrug.

"Why yes, I hope it would." Ariana said with a pleasant smile. She stepped out from behind the counter and stopped next to him. "I say you've earned a bit of a break from all the hard labor."

(Alright, and I have no plans to horribly murder you <.<)(It really is fine if you get anything wrong, you aren't as well versed in the lore as I am. You go too far off the rails I'll correct you, and even then it can be written off RP wise as folklore not matching up with the truth)(And as always, we both are going to have off posts- and so far you's is seeming pretty good :D)

Garail's eyes slowly shifted around the constructed scene. He contained a chuckle as she banged on the door and cried out for his help. I wonder what little horrors she has locked up in her pretty little head... He thought, allowing himself another moment to enjoy the scene before turning his attention back to Kiara.

Yeah, there are ways Garail can hide himself while using his powers
The gods all have the same eye color as their children but there is always a symbol of some sort around their pupil 
Hunger looks to be in his mid to early thirties and is extremely thin

Harvesters- Which I believe I already told you about, their bodies are covered in a chitin armor (like crabs), they have six legs and long slender arms with fingers about two and a half times longer than human fingers. their heads are large and on long necks, Their jaws can detach like a snakes  and their teeth are about the size of a thumb and pointed.
Their eyes are large, about three times the size of a humans, pure red and shimmer in low to no light. 

The Blank Men- created by Fear after seeing humans. If you are familiar with the Slinderman mythos you know what these guys are. (Though they usually wear noble's clothes/robes over suits) They cause distortions to memories and perceptions when they touch someone or something. (A Blank Man came to Shal's defense when he had been stabbed in the back at Gluttonous Corpse and creations of Pride were moving in to finish him off)

Whispers- a Fear original, based off his desire to be left alone. They hide in secluded parts of forests in pairs and whisper comforts to one another. Almost completely docile and will only attack if their partner is attacked. Small, coming up to about the hip on a grown man, childlike in appearance, clothed in long flowing cloth. (Appearance is subject to change between stories involving them, believed that they can change shape.) 

Vyrin- Described as 'beautiful' or 'handsome' at night the Vyrin look human and feed on bodily fluids. During the day or nights of full or almost full moon the Vyrin's beauty is replaced by how they truly look, ugly, lanky, with larger than normal canine and incisor teeth. 

Unforgiven- Much like the Harvesters many atrocities are attributed to the Unforgiven. It is said they come to people at the dead of night and whisper into their ear every wrong deed they had ever done. If the person sleeps through it then the Unforgiven returns the following night- if the person wakes up the Unforgiven will attack and attempt to harm/kill the person. (Based off a creation of Truth that does similar things) Short with long arms ending with thick sharp claws. Skin is pure white and eyes are- red pupils- yellow iris- black sclera (white part of the eye)

I was thinking of something along the lines of my Fear mage- but less affecting the minds of people as using light to make illusions everyone can see or bend light in such a way that something can't be seen- a power that might slowly morph into something else

I was thinking something along the lines of- they are attempting to expand their empire but lack skills in teraforming so are forced to attempt to find planets that are suitable for them to live on
Or to take a bit from 'home world destroyed' and 'Sins of a Solar Empire' their solar empire was attacked by something which burned through their worlds- they are running from the other force and simply strip mining words they pass by for resources to survive... I don't know if that makes the story too complicated though
-Might be smart with the whole 'put off 'till later' idea

Might be their experiences dictate whether they stick with their blood or the humans in the eventual war

Have you thought up a reason why the aliens want to conquer Earth?

Garail can see it, Kiara can see it, but no one else would be able to see it

The main plan goes through, the brother in the legion dies, the younger price lives but the Empress dies, the Emperor is almost killed as he sends his personal guard to the princess. I plan on having Lina, Garail and a few other unimportant mages being the in on the assault on the Emperor- the Emperor is wounded, Lina heals him. Garail stabs her for betraying the noble. At which point Truth shows up and puts a solid end to the plan.

Pretty much, yeah. As far as she can tell the illusion is completely real. 

Yeah, the big plan starts to go though, I can tell you what all I have planned to happen if you want to know. 

"Well, that depends doesn't it?" Lina said.

Garail pushed the door closed behind him and leaned against it. A cruel smile split his lips. "Now? Now you fight for your life." He glanced down at his right hand. "Oh and try not to die, our lord would be rather annoyed if that happened. (So, she's going to see an illusion of some kind, up to you what it is.)
 
"I would recommend it dear." Ariana said, she winked. "you know, I think all your help has deserved you a reward or two."

"Aw, why not?" Lina asked pouting again.

"Go and stand in the middle of the courtyard, and we shall figure out what powers you have." Garail said, waiting for her.

"Now now, I didn't say you weren't attractive, just that the complaining wasn't attractive." She said slyly. 

"I see no reason why it can't be fun." She said, with a light smile.

"Yes, you do." Garail said passing through the door. "Now we find out what powers you can use effectively." (Totally :D)

"Really? You should know it isn't very attractive." Ariana teased.  

"That answer's no fun." Lina huffed.

An amused smile worked its way across Garail's lips. He turned and looked her in the eye. "You are a daughter of Hunger, the question is not what powers do I have, it is what powers are strongest?" (It would be anything that can be derived from an elemental or natural source, so yes to things like electricity and metal)

"Why, if it is all your pleasure then why do you complain good sir knight?" Ariana asked with a wink.

"Then why shouldn't I go around telling people?"

"Depends on what powers manifested themselves strongest with you, having you destroy things might be useful for your training." He stopped at a large set of doors. "More space in the courtyard, things can be moved out there should targets be needed."

"Oh? Then thank you my good sir knight." Ariana said lifting her skirt slightly in a mock curtsey.

"What afraid it would ruin your reputation?" Lina asked with a giggle. 

"First we must learn what you excel at daughter of Hunger." Garail said stepping away from the wall and starting down the corridor. "I am sure we can find plenty of open space in the courtyard." (Do you want her powers based in elements?)
 
"That must be so hard on you, one might wonder why you put up with it." Ariana shot back maintaining her pleasant smile. 
(YES!)

"Ooh, a secret!" Lina said brightly, "I'm good at keeping those!"

"If you are just a tool to be used then you find yourself in the hands of an artisan. But really, what gives you the impression that you are only spoken to for your usefulness? You serve a busy man Miss Kiara, one of which is to maintain and uphold his duties within the royal court. Time is as important to our lord as a proper meal to a beggar, and our lord sets aside much time for you." He said in a level tone, "should you so wish, continue to pout but know that I will work you harder because of it."
 
"Why don't you give me an example or two so I might improve in the future?" She asked sweetly.

"Uh-huh, then why did you say that it tickled and why are you squirming around so much?" She asked, giggling as she poked him once more.

"You know, running out like that is usually frowned upon." Garail said, as he turned the corner on her. He crossed his arms over his chest and leaned against the wall.

"Oh? What makes you believe that I am unfair to you?" Ariana asked with a sly smile.

(It's alright, you'll get better or I'll poke you)

"Heh, I didn't know you were ticklish!" Lina said with a devilish smile as she poked him again.
 
Tyran raised an eyebrow as he watched Kiara stalk out of the room. "I rather think she misunderstood what I was saying." He said.
"I'll take care of it milord." Garail replied looking over at the door. 
"Good, I will return later tonight." Tyran said, walking out the doors, Garail following him out.
"Yes milord." Garail said, glancing down one of the halls. "If you excuse me milord." Garail started down the hall Kiara took.
"To much drama lately." Tyran sighed as he walked down the hall.

"Why of course, I'm not an unfair employer." She said with a wink.

 

"What, don't think I can handle it?" She huffed, poking him lightly between ribs. "see if I bother being nice to you again." She added with a light smile.  

"Too boring you say? Well then, we will keep you busy." He said, again stepping out of the adjoining room this time with a long deep red over shirt. and a dark robe hanging over this arm. "Garail, take care of her, I have no time."
"Yes milord." Garail said.
"Good, anything else?" Tyran said pulling the robe over his shoulders. 

"I am sure I can find something for you to do up here." Ariana said lightly.
 

"Yeah, sure." Lina said, as she leaned against him and wrapped her arms around him. "I can try to get the cloak over the both of us if you want." She stated.

"Yes, I can arrange for a private tutor or Garail can do it." Tyran said, stepping back into the adjoining room. "Any particular reason you suddenly wish to hone your abilities?" He called from the other room. 

Resting her head against his shoulder, Ariana curled her arms around him. She held the hug for almost a minute before she let her arms drop away. She smiled lightly, "thank you."

(It's fine, I'm not doing a whole lot better)

"Un!" Lina grunted as she leaned forward, adjusting to the sudden forward movement. She unfruled the cloak and pulled it over her shoulders.

Tyran nodded. "It also invalidates anything he might try to say to point blame towards me... Good work." He turned towards Garail. "Have the needed evidence and information planted, incase it is needed."

"It will be done milord." Garial said.

Tyran turned back to Kiara. "As for you my dear, would you like an opportunity to leave the villa as a... reward?"

Taking in another deep breath and letting it out Ariana met Akade's eyes. "I'm fine." she paused, closed them and took a breath in before continuing "He is some imperial lord that wanted to take me as something to show off to his wealth." she said bitterly.

(Yeah, I think it has something against me.)

"Thanks" Lina said with a smile, she could feel she blush cross her cheeks. There was bright flash followed by a loud boom, Lina quickly started to unfold the cloak.

Tyran stepped into the room, buttoning a simple white shirt. He nodded to Garail as the mage stepped into the room. The guards pulled the door closed as Garail took his regular place. Tyran turned his attention to Kiara who was fidgeting with her dress.

"What is it Garail? You know I haven't much time this week." He tucked his shirt into the waist of his pants.

"Milord, Miss Kiara has found a workable solution to our problem." Garail said.

"This I can make time for. Do tell." Tyran said quickly.

Yil blinked at Akade, his brow still scrunched. He suddenly shook his head and quickly stepped out of the door. His three swordsmen following quietly after him.
Ariana let out a long breath and placed a hand on her desk. "Thank you." she said with softly.
(Great minds or something like that.)

(And after typing it all out it logged me out, again.)

"Thanks for the vote of confidence." Lina said with a light smile. "But I don't think I'm that good."

Wordlessly the two guards pushed open the study door as Garail approached. Garail paused outside the door giving Kiara a chance to pass him and enter the study first. 

The three swordsmen exchanged glances as Akade approached, they looked towards their lord to see what he wanted them to do. Yil looked at Akade for several seconds, his eyebrows knit. "You... your-"

"Yes, please see these gentlemen and their lord out Akade." Ariana said giving Yil a cold stare.  

Yil scratched his chin and took several steps towards the door. He ran his tongue over his lips. "You'll regret this." He said to Ariana.

Ariana continued to give the man a cold stare. "Last chance before I call the guards. Some of them even stay here." 
(Akade from a noble family right? Mind if Yil knows his family?)

“Yeah, I got it!” She said carefully pulling it out of the pouch which she closed with her free hand.  With a light grunt she pushed herself back into a sitting position resting the folded up cloak on her lap. “Well that went better than expected.” She muttered.
 
“Right.” Garail said, stepping off the wall slipping past her. “Let’s go tell the good lord.” He added as he pulled open the door and stepped into the hall.
 
“Excuse me?” Yil said through his teeth.

“Then I will say it differently, I am not, nor will I ever be, interested.” Ariana said slowly.

“Also milord I would like to add, what you are after is not a wife but a woman to wait on you hand and foot while half naked. To help you find what you desire milord I can give you the name of a brothel in Sothu.” She said coldly. The noble sputtered for a few moments before regaining his composure.

“How dare you. I could have this place torn apart!” he spat, bringing a hand down on the counter with a loud smacking sound.    

“Right.” Lina said, leaning back and carefully pulling the pouch open. She carefully sifted through the contents. “It’s the heavy brownish one, right?” She asked as she slowly attempted to extract the cloak.
 
Garail scratched his chin before nodding again. “It sounds good.” He said crossing his arms again. He looked into her eyes for several moments, showing no emotion or clues to what he was thinking. Finally he glanced to his right before looking back. “And you’d really be willing to toss your own blood?” he asked meeting her gaze again.
(It all works great)
 
“Ah yes, I was passing through on order of our emperor to help set up trade routes with some smaller kingdom. I thought it would be remiss of me if I didn’t drop by to see if you had considered my offer.” Yil said, a large smile plastered across his lips. Ariana kept up her thin smile.

“Why no, I can’t say that I have my lord.” Ariana replied. Yil’s smile faded.

“It is quite an attractive offer, many wouldn’t think twice to accept.” He hissed.

“Why don’t you offer it to one of them then, milord?” She asked.  

(I highly recommend Akade shows up during their next exchange <.< >.>)

"Thanks." Lina twisted her torso around and looked down at the packs. She turned her head back to Kenu. "Do you remember which one or which side it was on?" She asked.

His gaze followed her as she paced back and forth. "Alright, tell me more," he said with a light nod.

The wood door swung open, hitting the wall with a wince inducing crack. Ariana's head snapped towards the front door as a three men walked through followed by a man in expensive cloths. A large grin crossed the lips of the fourth man as he looked at Ariana and walked over to the desk. "Ah, Ariana my dear, nice to see you are still doing well."
Looking at her door then back to the man she smiled thinly. 
"Lord Yil, I see you are passing through again." she said humorlessly. 

(Hmmm... Eh, screw it)(Hm, might do a little thingie with Ariana that we should be able use to tie her back into the main story)
(Eeeh? Speak up I don't hear so well!)

Lightening crackled between dark low-hanging clouds. Resting her hand on the back of the saddle to keep herself steady Lina looked up at the clouds. She let out a short high pitched whistle. "Hope we make it to the city before the rain starts." She leaning back forward again.

Garail leaned back against the wall, his arms crossed over his chest. He studied Kiara for half a minute before finally speaking. "Are you sure of this plan then?" He asked looking her straight in her eyes.

"Good" He said placing his plate on the tray and downing the remainder of his wine. "Don't disappoint me." he placed the glass down with a light click.

"You have your uses, even Garail can see something as simple as that, harming you serves us no greater purpose."

(Kenu as accesss to contacts outside the empire, and has had a poor life within the empire- his public image can be twisted into that of someone who blames the Royal family for his troubles and was talked into leading an overthrow by one of his contacts.)

"What, uncomfortable around Garail my dear? You have no reason to be." He chuckled.  

(Maybe with them skip forward and she comes forward with using Kenu as the scapegoat idea?)

"Talk to Garail, learn how the plan works. Find the pieces that can be used and thrown away." Tyran said with a shrug.

(It is always quite nice :D)

"Yes." He said with a chuckle. "Unless you have a problem with it?"

"Simply, should the plan go south finding a proper... scapegoat to keep the blame from finding me.

A smile curled across his lips, he placed his hands on the table and leaned forward. "I do have this little problem, Garail has been unable to solve for me." He said lightly. 

"Alright." Lina said, leaning forward and resting against him for support. 

(Well, Fear mages can detect things such as life- it wouldn't be much of a stretch that they could detect when something powerful is coming.) 

"One month, we will begin the operation. Two months at worse should any changes be made to the princesses travel plans." Tyan said, as he picked up his fork and finished off his meal. 

"Thanks." Lina said, taking Kenu's hand and pulling herself up behind him.

(Actually canonically speaking Shal is blessed by Fear so there is some connection to the Hollow Gods in his lineage. What was the idea?
Premonition? Several creations of Truth have it in a way- so I guess technically speaking if any of the children were to have it, it would be children of Truth, it might be that it presents itself as a feeling of foreboding before a horrible event, or a feeling of peace before a pleasant event rather than being able to directly read the future though)

"How long? This plan has been in the making for several years, it is only recently that all the pieces have begun to come together." He cut the remaining ham slice in half, "war may not be desired, but if there is a cause to rally around they will be more than willing to fight. Vengeance is an excellent motivator, and the royal family is... highly popular."
 
"Yeah, I'm ready." Lina said, returning the smile as she strapped her pouch to the horse. "It feels like a month since we did this."

(Alright, sounds good to me. And given how often the Hollow Gods' especially Hunger leaves after a few years of their first child it still works that Kiara's mother could have remarried.)

"With the backing of several other noble families who are... willing to stand with me, I will step forward to defend a nation believing itself under assault. From there, produce evidence that will lead a frightened populous  to believe that several outlying kingdoms are to blame." Tyran picked up his fork, and met her eyes. "How many have I gathered? one-hundred and three." he said, slipping the meat off his fork and into his mouth.

Lina waved to them both as she followed Kenu out. With a light smile Ariana turned to Akade, "well, lets get back to work."
(There's no real problem with it so feel free to keep her as a child of Hunger, but, generally speaking children of Hunger are extremely powerful mages, both because of how many different types of powers manifest and how well they can use their powers. That said- Children of Hunger aren't all fantastic mages, they are simply more likely to be powerful)

(So I typed out a nice long response and... I fracking logged out for no reason! So here's a not nearly as good response.)

"Your brother is collecting a child of Pride." Tyran said lightly, folding the strip of ham with his fork and spearing it. "The palace would be impossible to capture in a frontal assault without acquiring a large amount of assets." He placed the fork on the side of the plate, the ham still hanging off.
"But, because of current imperial views on the conscription of mages into the armies and how soldiers are drawn into the Imperial Guard, very few mages are within the Guard. Which provides exploitable weakness, use Children of Fear to keep a detachment of the guard chasing ghosts. Have smaller flexible teams break through soldiers left behind to keep back areas locked down. Simply put, it is not about defeating the Imperial Guard and controlling the palace so much as killing the royal family before the Guard can regain control of the situation."

"It has been a pleasure serving you both." Ariana said lightly. "Ride safe."
"Thank you, keep well." Lina replied with a smile.

"It wouldn't take too much to overpower the imperial guard in the palace, and with the princess returning from the east soon a grand opportunity has presented itself. A small number of the children of the gods attacking at the correct time would be more than enough." He picked up his knife and fork and cut off another slice of ham.

Ariana placed the pouch on the counter top and chuckled. "I may not agree with you but I won't turn down extra money." She turned to Lina with another easy smile. "Keep him out of trouble, ok?" 
"Ok." Lina said with a nod. 
"Also, come back and visit some time, it was fun having you two around." she added with a wink. 

"That is the problem right there, this stability you speak of is little more than complacently. It serves us no purpose keeping the smaller border kingdoms sovereign when the land could used for imperial interests. Nor is there a reason to believe this... relationship with Xia will continue to last, our focus should be on the next fifty years, one the past hundred." Tyran kept his eyes focused on Kiara's, as Garail resumed his position in the corner of the room.

Ariana smiled softly as she leaned against the desk. "It will be three silver for the night you had planned on staying."
"What about the other nights?" Lina asked slowly.
"My gift to you for all your help these past days." Ariana answered lightly, holding her hand out for the coins. 

Tyran watched Kiara with an amused smile. Garail walked to the entrance to the study and pulled the door open, Tyran could barely hear the man's voice as he spoke to the guards. Garail closed the door and nodded, carefully Tyran placed his fork and knife down on either side of his plate and laced his fingers togeher.
  "You are correct Kiara dear, I am unsatisfied with how the Emperor and Empress are ruling and believe there must be change."

Lina yawned as she walked into the lobby, rubbing her left eye with the back of her hand. She made her way over to the reception desk, Ariana already standing up to greet them. 
"Finally leaving?" she asked with a cheery smile. 

"Ha, I rather like this girl Garail." He took another sip of wine. "Let us not think of how easily I could discredit and dismantle you should you attempt to bring any information you might learn in the coming days. I find it rather a waste of a useful mind just bringing me my food." Tyran looked over to Garail. The man remained perfectly still.
"Still hold doubts?" he  asked.
"No milord." the child of fear answered levelly. 

Lina yawned as she nodded again. Giving the room a quick glance over she walked out of the room and started down the hall towards the lobby. 

Alright, sleep tight, see you soon hopefully

His smile widened again as he carefully picked up a fork and knife. “You really should eat before your food before it cools.” He said, cutting off a hunk of ham and slipping it into his mouth.  He watched her quietly as he chewed. He downed the food with a sip of wine, speaking as he placed the glass back down. “You are quite the observant girl, now tell me… what do you think would happen to you if this… treasonous activity you believe me guilty of were to come to light?”
 
Lina bobbed her head up and down slowly as she shoved her shirt into a pack that had room. She picked up the small leather parcel she kept her books in and looked back over at Kenu.
(I find the idea of her having red eyes that are also blood shot rather… funny)

Several teeth broke through Tyran's lips as his smile widened. He reached out and lifted the lid off the food and placed it to the side. He picked up a plate and gently placed it down. "Throw caution aside, tell me my dear what do you believe I am doing?" In the edge of his vision he could see Garail shift his weight lightly. 

Lina gave Kenu a hard stare for a few moments. "Morning." she mumbled stepping back into her room and walking over to her traveling pack.

With a thin smile Tyran laced his fingers together. He leaned forward, his weight resting on his elbows. His dark eyes studying her for several moments before he spoke.
“Tell me Kiara dear, do you know what we are doing when Garail and I are in this back room?”
 
With long groan Lina pulled the shirt over her head and shoved her arms through her sleeves. With an irritated grumble she pulled her bangs to one side and stood up. She plucked up the pair of pants and slipped them on. Picking up her shirt she walked over to the door and pulled it open.

With another grumble she pulled off the thin shirt she had worn to bed and groped for the clothes she had laid out the night before.

Lightly Garail began to move the moment he heard the knock, Tyran looked past him a light smile already crossing his thin lips. “Yes, send her in.” Garail watched as Tyran brushed papers to one side of the oak desk, making room.
Garail cleared his throat lightly. “Shall I leave you two milord?” he asked.
“No.” Tyran said as he stacked a few papers neatly, looking up as the door was pushed open.
“Yes milord.” Garail said, straightening his black leather uniform before returning his arms to behind his back.   

Yeah- I'll start with the Lord's bit... Maybe have Kenu waking Lina up for their part? Also... I should give the lord a name.



Steel tipped boots clicked against the polished marble floor as Garail walked down the long hall. Two guards in gilded hard leather pulled open a large set of double doors as he drew close. Garail stepped through the guards closing the door behind him. There was a moment’s pause one of the guards knocked on the door, then he could hear the guards’ footsteps as they walked away.
Garail’s white eyes glanced around the room. A small windowless study, bookshelves lined with thick books flanked a closed door to his left. A low fire across from him provided light for the room and several bookshelves lined the wall to his left.  Holding his arms behind his back Garail waited. There was a heavy thump, then the door to his left swung open. A tall lean man stepped through, running his fingers though his dark hair.
“Punctual as always Garail.” He said, pulling a chair away from the table with his foot.
“You have asked for me milord?” Garail held perfectly still as the man sat.
“Have my men been moved into the prince’s legion?” The man rested his arms upon the table, the fire popped and briefly flickered higher.
“They have been moved into place milord. No trail back to you milord.”
“Good.” The man scratched his chin. “have you found a useful way to be rid of the messengers should anything… go awry?”
“I am still working on that milord.” Garail said.
“Then, find a way. I think we have both learned the importance of keeping something in reserve.” The man said, his dark eyes meeting Garail’s. 
"My apologies milord." Garail said quickly.
"Don't give me platitudes, give me results." the man said levelly.

Calm, extremely hard to ruffle or throw into a rage, good at looking at the long term over the short term. Kind, or at least feigns kindness when speaking to others (from years of having served in the royal court.) But is willing to drop personal morals should it fit his needs.

Some of the assassinations do happen, the Princess does live as she serves an important role. And at least one of the parents dies to protect the princess, other than that I don't really know.

I remember this because our RP does have a role within the cannon of my little universe, I just forget most of the smaller things... like names

I don't believe it will come up much in the RP but the Lord does have some of his men in the Legion the prince serves in and they are to assassinate the prince as the Lord begins his move on the throne

Also- maybe the sister by betraying Kenu is hoping that the lord would protect her if the plan went south

From what I remember, we have a lord (can't remember if we named him yet) who is unhappy with how the Emperor and Empress are leading the empire. He wishes for the Empire to expand so they can eventually gain the needed power to conquor Xia. He has a plan to usurp the throne by having the royal family killed (Emperor, Empress along with the heir apparent- the princess, and the two sons (one of which serves in the imperial army)) In the chaos following the assassination he would claim the throne for the duration of the panic, and blame outlying kingdoms for having planned the attack.

Also, I was thinking that what happened with Shal was a different failed attempt by the lord to start a war. The merc bands were ordered to be killed and then stated that they were sent by one of the kingdoms to raid smaller imperial cities on the border, or something to that effect. 

Hm? Rather a lot of sudden writing going on over there

Basically- If the lord's plan started to go south he would use the runners like Kenu as scapegoats- They would have contacts within other kingdoms which allowed them to gather mages, then even with his plain failing the lord could use the situation to his advantage. He would remove the runners that could link back to him and implicate the kingdoms as attempting to move against the empire giving a reason for the empire to go and conquer them. 

Maybe have Kenu's sister being someone the Lord trusts- she was the reason Kenu was brought to the lord's attention as someone he could use to gather mages for his usurping attempt, and maybe she she brings up the idea of using Kenu as the ultimate scapegoat. (He has had a hard life in the empire and his image could be molded into that of someone who blames the royal family for his misfortune)

Sorry if I'm not explaining the idea well, head hurts a bit and I should probably take an asprin.

Did you have any plans for Kenu's sister? I remember you wanting her to betray him in some way, and I believe I should have a way it can work into the overarching story. (and if you wish I do have a scene with the big bad she could be in if you want her working with the  lord that is looking to overthrow the royal family)

"Your wish..." Shal whispered, he traced up her body slowly and gently nipped her neck.

"And you're the one who wanted to take it literally." Ariana shot back with a grin.
 
Lina blushed lightly and attempted to not lean against him. 

"Why yes I can." Shal said as he ran a finger along her side down to her hip. 

Ariana laughed. "Testing the waters huh? I think you might want to go for something a little less... Painful." She said with a wink. (Bravo Akade, bravo.)

"Uhm... Ok." Lina said uncertainly as she took his hand. 

"Heh, I can give a few guesses why." Shal chuckled pulling her close to him. 

"Oh were you?" Ariana asked, she straightened her back out slightly her collar hanging down low. "Never took you for the type."

"A ride in the country?" Lina blinked.

"Ha, fair enough." Shal said, "just let me know when you're feeling up it."

"You're so literal." Ariana laughed.

(Sounds good to me)
"Huh? Take Alistar out? Out where?" Lina asked.

"Heh, only when I have a good reason." Shal said kissing her neck. 

"Am I really so violent towards you?" Ariana asked, leaning towards him.

"Oh um, he's my brother's horse." Lina said walking up to the stallion. 
(New name!)

"Look at you trying to keep us on track." Shal joked. 

"Well, I guess that's true." Ariana said breezily. "But who knows, maybe your choosing now to start to be dishonest with me." She winked at him. 
 
Lina followed Saruto closely. 
(Um.... I forget it too)

"Heh, good." Shal said kissing the back of her neck. 

Ariana laughed and leaned forward in her chair. "How can I be sure you aren't lying to me?" She asked playfully. 

"Huh? O-ok." Lina said, half slipping out of the chair, half being pulled off. 

"Alright." Shal said kissing the back of her head. 

"You're still you right? Or are you hiding more things from me?" Ariana asked.

"Huh? Like what?" Lina looked up at him. 

Shal wrapped his arms around her gently. "Do you need me to grab a bucket?"

"Change my look of you?..." Ariana shook her head. "No... Not really."

"For fun? I um... Read." Lina said glancing down.

"Hm?.. What is it?" Shal asked, sitting up slightly. 

Ariana chuckled lightly and nodded. 

Lina took another sip, she watched Saruto out of the corner of her eye. "So um..." she started, trying to think of something to say.

(Righty-o)
Shal stirred as Ash moved, he opened his right eye a crack. "Mmn?" 

"I... I haven't had the greatest record with nobles." Ariana said rubbing the back of her neck. "And... I jumped to some conclusions I shouldn't have when I found out."

Lina laughed lightly as she watched him take the drink. "See? Told you." 

(Alright!)

"It would have been nice." Ariana said with a small smile.

"Give it a try." Lina said, "It tastes good" 

(Maybe gathering supplies for when they hit the road again? Curled up asleep in a bed? Hitting the baths? Getting a drink?)

"Ha, true enough." Ariana chucked. Her chair squeaked lightly as she leaned forward. "I apologize for how I acted earlier." 

Lina lifted the glass up to her nose and took a sniff, she took a small sip and smiled. "It's really sweet, it tastes kind of like an orange." 
(Unnamed fruit- Sweet with a acidic/tart aftertaste.) 
(Hm... Maybe they are out doing something?)

"Ha, you might want to warn him about Kenu before he tries anything." Ariana laughed.

Lina slipped into a seat next to him, she brushed her hair away from her eyes again. From under the counter the old man pulled out a fired and glazed clay container. He pulled a quark out and carefully filled the two glasses with a deep red liquid. 
(It's made from a fruit that I haven't named yet that grows on a chain of islands in the Jeweled Sea)

"Alright... Good." Ariana said with a light sigh, "they're... Cute together." Ariana laughed.

"Same for me." Lina said. The old man nodded and pulled out two glasses from under the counter.

(Sorry, fruit juice, fail typing on phone.)

"So, are your brothers going to tell your father where you are?" Ariana asked.

"So um... What do you have to drink?" Lina asked.
"Let's see, warm spiced cider, a sweet juice fruit from the Empire, fresh milk, tea..." The old man said, he grinned. "I don't believe either of you are old enough for the stronger drinks."

 

"Yes, it truly is." Ariana said with a large grin and a laugh.

"Excuse me." Lina called as she approached the counter. The old man stepped out of the back room. He eyed Lina then Saruto, a crooked smile spread across his face.
"Hello Lina, who's your friend?" He asked.
"This is Saruto, he's one of Akade's brothers." Lina answered.
"Nice to meet you young man." The old man said, holding a hand out.

"I'm going to have to beat that out of you." Ariana said with a wink.

"We should ask." Lina said, standing up. 

(Just being sure) 

Sleep tight!

"Its... How do I say this... How you act I guess. How you don't like accepting help from others." She looked up at the ceiling. 

"Oh um... What do they have... Don't think I've ever really checked." Lina said. 
(Erm, are they grabbing alcoholic drinks? <.<)
 

A smile spread across her lips and she looked up. "It explains a lot though." She chucked.

"I had plenty of stories to keep me entertained." Lina said lightly. She plucked at the hem of her shirt as she forced a smile to remain on her lips. 

(Hurrays!)

Ariana nodded slowly. She ran a finger along the table, leaving a line through the dust. "Not much of a childhood I take it?"

"Its... Much quieter." Lina said, her brow furrowing slightly. "Spent most of my childhood in a small town on the edge of the border, the biggest excitement I can remember was when a Xian military outfit was passing though to help the king secure the borders."

(Hey, the scorned woman sounds fine to me)

"Never felt much like home to you there I'm guessing?" Ariana asked.

"I've lived in the Empire for a few years but I was born in a small Kingdom to the south." Lina said easily. (Such an easy liar)
(Yeah sure, you can do anything you want. Shal's back story can easily be rewritten to fit just about anything so long as it happened around the Empire/Xia area) 

"I can understand why, I remember the countryside being beautiful." Ariana said breezily.  

"We're um... Heading back into the Empire." Lina said glancing down slightly. 

(Something like that, I was thinking probably a younger sibling.)

"My mother and I went up to Rune once when I was little, I can't say I remember much of the city or countryside though." Ariana said with a faint smile.

Lina fidgeted in her seat slightly, she pushed a few locks of hair behind her ears. "So um..." she mumbled.
 
(Probably someone well enough off to hire a Fear mage, likely someone obsessed with their grudge.)

She looked across at him, a small smile crossed her lips. "So you're a lord from up North?" 

"Thanks." Lina said, slipping into the seat. 

(...<.< What do you want?)

Ariana smiled and pulled out one of the chairs. She sat down and rested her arms against the table. "If you want to call it that, feel free." She laughed.

"Yes brother." Lina said, a pale blush entered her cheeks as she slipped her arm around his. 

(The evilest D:)(Shal? Old grudges from his Merc days or killing for a quick coin.)

Ariana smiled lightly and lead him back through the staff quarters into a small back room. "A little break room that never gets used." She said pulling open a pair of curtains. "Sorry about the dust." she added as she motioned towards a simple chair pushed against a small wooden table in the center of the room.

"Ok um... That sounds nice." Lina said, glancing back at Kenu. 

(Yep. it is. And evil!)(Maybe someday... Someday...)

Ariana stepped around the counter, she paused next to Akade. "Come on." She said, taking a few steps forward.

Lina nodded, her cheeks flushing a faint pink. She plucked at the hem of her shirt nervously.  

(Damn you life! -_-)(Oh, we have forgotten about Shal, Ash, and the Fear mage that will one day be sent after them)

Ariana laughed lightly as Ristu took his leave. She looked up at Akade and shook her head slowly. "Shall we head somewhere more private?" she asked. 

(The woopsie with showing her eyes?)

"Uhm... Thank you." she said quietly brushing her bangs away from her right eye again. 

(Eeh, tired. Long several weeks. Yourself?)

"I hope you enjoy your stay, the springs are free to use and I would recommend eating in our little diner, best food in town." Ariana said, motioning towards the door into the hot springs then the small diner. 

(Hey, look, it worked out!)

Lina looked up at quickly. Her mouth hung agape for a few seconds, before she shook her head. "Uh, no, nothing wrong." She said quickly glancing back over her shoulder. 
"Um." Lina turned back towards Saruto, "You really think so?"

"Alright." Ariana said pulling a key off the top row of pegs. She turned back to Ritsu with a pleasant smile and held the key out. "Room 5, its on the first floor, down the first hall across from the springs."

Lina blinked then quickly pulled her hand away letting her bangs falling back over her eyes. Her shoulders tensed. "Uh..." She mumbled, drawing a blank. 

"Will you be needing one room or two?" She asked, turning towards the pegs where the empty room keys hung. (Woah that's an awkward wording)

(Would they be from Xia? Large city or ruling over a small town or estate?)(Sorry, I've been meaning to draw up a simple Imperial/Xia map but I can't figure out how big I want it to be)

"You think? Not good with directions?" She asked brushing her bangs away from her right eye. 

"I... See." Ariana said softly. She tapped her index finger against the wooden counter for a few moments before looking over at Ritsu. "Will you and your brother be staying the night? If so I can have your horses put up in our stables." 

Lina fidgeted slightly, she plucked absently at the hem of her shirt. "So um... Where're you from?" she asked.

Hai. So uh, I'm going to make a new account. Maybe I'll be on more. cx

She smiled lightly and nodded. "Yes it is." She said gently, "but, isn't that something you should tell your parents not me?"

Lina froze for a second, her pale cheeks flushing pink. "Oh um... T-thank you." she bumbled. (Surprisingly easy to fluster that one.)
 

Ariana placed a hand on her hip and looked into Akade's eyes. "If that's how you feel, then say it with more passion." she said firmly.

Lina tilted her head sightly to the right. "Is something wrong? You look a little... nervous."

Ariana blinked a few times and relaxed her hands. "You don't want to be a lord?" she looked over at Ritsu. "I uh... You would rather work for..." she mumbled. Ariana shook her head and looked back up. "What do you mean he would be good at it?" She asked, her cheeks slightly flushed.

"No, not really. We were visiting some relatives down South." Lina said, looking back at Saruto.

"Work here? No not really, we were just passing through and a few things came up." She smiled faintly and glanced at Kenu. 

(No I have not, I might give it a looksie)(Yeah... Granted the modern vampire isn't really a vampire anymore, poor bastard.) 
(Hm, it is common for couples pray to Lust when attempting to conceive a child and pray to Pain when it is time for the child to be born.) 

"Oh? Is there anything you would like to know about me? Feel free and ask, I wouldn't like to feel like I was hiding anything from you all." She said sweetly, placing her hands on the desk.

Lina took his hand lightly and nodded. "Same to you Saruto." 

(For every story involving hiding as a tree Fear has plenty of... creepier ones. I was actually thinking of putting up an RP involving a Harvester on the forums because I find them... interesting <.<)(Oh! The closest thing this universe has to a vampire is a warped version of one of Lust's creations.)

"They make trouble they'll be on the street soon enough." She eyed Ritsu for half a second and nodded. "Oh, he's been treated very well, I hope he hasn't been complaining about me making him work."

"I'm Lina." She said with a small smile, looking up at him through strands of hair. 

The most dangerous creations are all ones made by Fear and based off a creation that is completely harmless- Example: Hunger created a cow like creature that ate grass and other small plants and is almost completely docile, after seeing it Fear created the Harvesters. Wicked hunters who, according to old stories, would completely devour entire villages in a week long 'harvest'. (There are four stages to each harvest, planting seeds- Harvesters take control of weak willed humans, raising- using their thralls over the course of the day they would abduct as many people as they could to create more thralls, harvesting/reaping- using all thralls they would violently attack any who resist. And finally the Harvest Feast. I think you can guess what that is.)

"Oh? I'd rather have them stay... Might get to find out what other secrets our Akade is keeping from us." Ariana said sweetly. She smiled, "It's a pleasure to meet both of you."

"She seems... pissed." Lina mumbled to Kenu. She looked at the two brothers, "Hi." she said simply.

Ariana looked up as she heard Saruto's footsteps approaching. She smiled coolly when she saw Akade and Risut following him. Her old wooden chair groaned as she stood up. She met Akade's eyes as he approached and gave him a long stare as he closed the distance. "Did you all have a nice talk?" She asked levelly when Akade reached the desk.

"That's rather rude." Lina said, straightening up. She pushed her lips together and crossed her arms. "Isn't to basic courtesy to ask names?" (And I also think rude people rub her the wrong way.)

Ariana smiled as she looked over at Akade. "If that's true he should probably say something." She said.

"Well... I guess everything is going well." Lina said with a small shrug. (Yay information!)

"Hello Sutaru, my name is Ariana." She said polietly. "What makes you think that our relationship is anything like that?" She asked.
Lina raised and eyebrow and looked up at Kenu.

Ariana raised an eyebrow and stood up as Sutaru hurried over. "Done so soon?" She asked with a small smile.

(Sorry feel asleep, I think I might be getting off. Sleepy.)

Ariana opened her mouth for a moment, she then snapped it closed and pushed her lips tightly together. "Right." She said leaning forward slightly in her chair. 
"Um.. Yeah." Lina said uncertainly. 

"A mans...? What? That's justification for not telling me?" Ariana asked.
"I think... he didn't want to be treated special." Lina said with a small shrug. 

"This isn't something I would joke about." Ariana said firmly. Lina looked up at Kenu. "I mean, how could he not tell me!" she added crossing her arms over her chest. 

 

"Apprently our little Akade is a Lord." Ariana said leaning back in her seat. 

"What? A lord? Him?" Lina sputtered. 

(Sure, why not)

"Oh just learning something new about Akade." Ariana said coldly. 
"Huh?" Lina said dumbly looking back over her shoulder. 

Lina followed after Kenu closely. 

"Have a nice talk." Ariana said sweetly as she sat back down in her chair. 

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea." Lina said slipping off the stool. 

"Yes, I think I would like that." Ariana said, looking him in the eyes. "You three can use the sunroom through that door over there." She motioned towards the door they could use. 

"Thank you, it's always nice to see your smiling faces." The old man smiled and picked up the plates. 
"You're the best!" Lina said brightly.

Ariana kept her smile steady, she crossed her arms over her chest. "Akade, if you don't want to talk I can ask them to leave." 

Lina plucked up the last few bites of her food as the old man walked out of the back room. 
(Side note, one of those things Lina is very proud of is her ability to read lies.)

Ariana's smile faultered for a moment, she placed her hands on the desk. "Lord or not I would ask that you treat the staff with respect." She said calmly, looking at Ritsu. 

"Doesn't sound like trouble." Lina said turning back to her food.

"Oh alright." Ariana said with a light smile. "Akade if you've finished cleaning that room you can spend some time with your family." She called towards the rooms. 

Lina blinked and half turned in her stool.

Ariana kept her polite smile as Sutaru made his coments. "Akade? May I ask how you would know this person? I can't in all good consious start giving away information of our customers. 

(That would also be in her best intrest. And Shal's. She gets quite cranky.)

Lina took another bite, she chewed quietly.

Ariana looked up from her book. She smiled polietly and slipped a torn piece of paper between the pages of the book and closed it. "Hello and welcome to the Crescent Moon." She said standing up. "How may I help you gentlemen?"

"Yeah, I will too." Lina smiled and took another bite.

Who do I have to beat?

(Huzzah!(It's alright, it happens))(Yeah, Mages of Pain have scarlet eyes and look more like their human parent. They have an extremely high tolerance for pain but once they are past that treshold they are completely useless. Though, they can use that to their advantage as they can pass pain on to others by touching them. There have been times where Mages of Pain have walked on broken legs simply because they can tolerate the pain.)

(The Empire is fairly neutral in the story really, Xia does more shoot just because the Empire is usully the stronger of the two.)(The Family is heading up the group that is studying mages, if there is a group holding Kenu's sister then it wouldn't be from the group headed by the Family. (The Family are the noble family who are all mages blessed by the gods and advise the Empress.) The family would only be researching for the sake of better understanding magic.)

"No." Lina said simply, drawing her lips into a fine line.

(The story is set in what would be modern times for us. Magic is still around but it doesn't play much of a roll. Since magic talent is rare tech still advanced abet slightly slower. Like, the early version of their gun showed up about one hundred years after when our early version appeared and the gun was mostly only used to kill mages.)
(Certain items, any of the gods, or an extremely powerful mage. For the last one it would most likely be one of the Children of Hunger.)

"Oh um... Ok thank you." Lina said, "I-if I think of anything I'll let you know." she added quickly at Akade reached for the door.

Ariana's face fell and she blinked a few times before regaining her composure. "Fine." She said softly. "You are free to go then."

Ariana pulled her lips into a line then nodded. "Yes I am." She said firmly. "You owe the poor girl an applogy."

"You really hurt her you know." Ariana said softly, running a finger along the plant's stem. 

Ariana smiled lightly. "Yeah, there are... Lina was helping you know? All she was doing was healing your bruises."
