Well the site logs users sessions for five minutes, and if you haven't reloaded or moved to a different page, you will be counted as "offline" by the website. It not a very smart system, but its effective.As for your art, as long as you try to do good and enjoy the act of making art, then you're doing good.
I don't draw any more because my hands have become shaky and it frustrates me that I can't control it and draw like I once did. But I have found other ways to make "Art" I program and write and play guitar, among other things. And I enjoy doing it all! :D

The site shows me as offline, but usually I'm just browsing the forums. If I am actually offline, I usually see when people comment me or reply to me via my iGoogle home-page. So I'm never really offline at all. haha.

Ah yeah, the social butterfly. You must have been born around June or July, right? I've got the same problem. When I used to play FFXI I would spend all of my time just helping other people out. I did that so much that I couldn't stand playing the game. Every time I would start doing something for myself I would get side-tracked with someone else. haha.

Well hopefully you didn't put too much trouble into it. Nothing can match that feeling of busting your bum on something and then not getting anything back for it. :/
I'm sure you'll get to a position of influence some day. I was able to do it, so I know anyone can. haha.

Yeah it can be hard to get into a GM kind of position. It takes a lot of trust on the administrators part and a fair judgment and lots of knowledge on your part.
The trick to getting it is basically getting yourself known. Talking with the other GMs and players and being helpful is a great way to start.
Of course, if you're talking about a game like FFXI or WoW, that has paid moderation, you'll probably need to go through an application process.

Yeah, that's another thing we need to fix. The old FAC template displayed that status on the profile, making it easier for people to find help.
