Blog Entry: Afterthoughts: Super Bros Brawl
It's been about 4 months since this game came out. I played it for most of March, about 3 times in April, and only twice in May. Yeah... it's getting boring. That's probably the most dissapointing thing about this game.
Now, this game is still pretty fun every time you haven't played for a while. Multiplayer is ALWAYS fun! And online? Meh...
One huge factor that made this game unlplayed for weeks is the fact that unlocking the main things(characters & stages) are really easy and quick to get, all thanks to the Subspace Embassy. You could just simply play on any difficulty and unlock almost all the characters. The only thing that kept me playing this is online.
For online, it is STILL lagy sometimes and takes a while to find people. This feature could definitaly had more features in it.
Am I proud that Nintendo worked so hard for so long on this? Hell yes, some things are improved greatly like the graphics, and customization options. But some things I think didn't really need to be bothered with, like stickers and music, or sound effects( who would bother to listen to those anyway?). This game could have been the biggest game of the decade, but some things just aren't great enough yet. Also, one thing that was ignored was the fans. I know a lot of you fans wanted certain characters or features, but weren't in. Nintendo really needs to start having surveys on what gamers want from them. But that would be a miricle.
I do have a good feeling Nintendo will do a lot better next round. This game feels like they're testing on certain features like online, not putting in much effort, just seeing how it would do. They should have known that about everyone's going to play online, perhaps that should have been worked on the most.
Well, it's summer, I hope to play this more often. It's not going to last me the entire summer though, I'll probably get really bored with it eventually, and play Mario Kart Wii( which has kicka$$ online ).
Current score-8.9/10 Original 9.3
