I don't normally like people that go that far into the fandom-ish thing, but if you look through it, normally those people are some of the funniest people to talk to.
 
And yes, butchering the characters attitudes just to make it fit does suck, but you gotta try and look past it.
 
And if the marrying thing is in a fan-fic, let it go. It's a fictional story, with fictional characters. There's nothing wrong with that.
