they're pretty different. graphite is a lot heavier and harder to control. But very much worth learning to use. You do a lot of shading, graphite is an excellent tool for that.

Thanks. I did the frame with pencil. now i'm using graphite to finish it all.

graphite is a lot smoother and clean. charcoal is messy and sometimes feels like you're scratching a chalkboard with your fingernails when you draw with it...
