Random Thoughts On a Summer Night

I just got back on here for the first time in what.....3 years? Something crazy like that. Looking back so much has changed. So here I sit with a bowl of ice cream by my side and memories to boot. I think of the friends I've lost and the friends I've gained. The friends that have lost themselves in the mix of life. And I truly pity them. I've come so far from where I was three years ago, farther than few people realize. Its frightening how quickly one can grow into an adult. One can mature almost overnight. I've seen it happen. I've seen people just destory their lives by making one stupid decision. Though I've tried to avoid them I'll admit that I've made quite a few myself. And continue to do so. Thats life. Thats what we all do to learn who we are and what were made of. (Sorry bout the cliche)I've had dreams dashed and shattered. I've been betrayed. By people who I thought were my friends. Yep. And that changed me. We all have stuff like that. But it doesnt matter what happens to us, it only matters whether or not we pick up and keep going or not. And that is what makes us who we are, what defines us. Life can pull you down, but you can pull yourself back up again. All you have to do is choose too.
