It's true.Like they probably already said, If you just say, start playing a sport without warming up, Your muscles will punish you for not warming up.
It's different though, when you warm up first, and then start doing some serious work. If it hurts after that, it just means that your muscles are growing.

Well good pain is what you feel after doing a workout correctly and you feel that slight tension in your muscles and you get a sudden push of energy. Bad pain just plaine hurts.
