Okay,I am sort of a veteran of Photoshop and I can give you most effective way to colour!Which version do you have?I see in your profile image that you most likely use the Airbrush to shade.Well,gradients make nice backgrounds.It's good to have lots of nice brushes,for decorations.If you'd like,I can tell you how I color in my pictures.

I never knew you had Photoshop!Which version?I have found the most effective way of coloring.And for the not-so-original character,I drew it,scanned it in and sort of traced over the lines...

I have a Kodak thing, so mine is different. Increase the contrast? That is a realy good idea!! I always crop it, now if I can find out how to increase the contrast on Kodak... I will figure it out :p

Yah! I take several pics of it, upload it, then pick the best one and mess around with it till it is good. Sometimes none of the picks are any good (or I just don't like them) and I have to take several more pics -_-

i am sorry you feel that my rendering of Ember does not look at her, but if you bothered to check out my gallery, you would discover that the not-looking-anything-like-the-original-character thing was done on purpose. i like shaping the characters into my own style. i do not like to restrict myself to only drawing certain characters to their original style. i am sorry if my way of drawing Ember offended you in any way.
