Scary Story Assignment

October 31, 2008


1956, new jersey farms, new jersey. I, me and my husband had just bought a new house. It was the best house, not too big, not too small. How we loved that house. Almost every day about a week after we bought it I decided to take a stroll through the beautiful woods behind our home. I loved walking through the woods so much it became a humdrum part of my day. An ordinary day I got up and after cooking breakfast and doing the laundry and setting it out to dry I went into the forest. Today I decided to go even further into the woods. As I walked further, I got more and more scared; the woods I once loved now made very nervous and peevish. The slightest noise made me jump a mile. After a while of roaming the woods I was about to turn around when my eyes glanced to the right then took a second look. About 15 yards in front of me was a house. An old one at that. I went inside and there was an Indian. He was very tall and was standing in front of a brand-new television, on it was static and a blurry face of an old lady. I walked forward but as I did I knocked over the tables’ old lantern. The Indian turned around, an angry look on his face.
“You,” he said pausing. “What have you seen?” he asked me.
“N-n-nothing.” I stuttered. He started to come toward me. I backed up but tripped and fell over the broken lantern. “You shall be our new transporter.” He said with a smile, and within the blink of an eye my world went black.

I paced around my room angrily. Why, I thought. Why did I have to go to that stupid party?
Unfortunately a neighbor called the cops complaining of overly loud music and yelling. My parents found out that I was at this party and were mad because I didn’t tell them I was going there. So now here I am; grounded for the whole summer. Not only that but I have to spend the whole summer at my great uncle’s house, in the country. This summer couldn’t get any worse.
I packed my bags taking a book id never read and went out the front door. In the car my dad said “you know we’re just trying to make sure you don’t get hurt, Amy.”. The rest of the ride was silent. We arrived at my uncle’s house a couple hours later. After unpacking and eating Lunch and saying goodbye to my dad, I went outside. “Can I go in the woods?” I asked my uncle awhile later. “No.” He said firmly and with a slight monotone. “Why” I asked. “Cause I said so.” Wow I thought my uncles usually very nice and funny almost like a kid. I wondered what was up with him. Later that night I snuck out of the house and went into the forest. I brought along a flashlight and a baseball bat. Just as a precaution. I snuck out the back and into the woods. I didn’t realize the forest would be so barren inside. I had been in the woods for over an hour before I thought about going back. I glanced at my watch 11:13 it said. The haunting hour, or so I’ve been told. A couple minutes later I came across a house, a very old one at that. I entered cautiously and looked around; a static noise came on. I followed the sound and came into a small room with dust that covered everything. The dust was a hazard for anyone with allergies inside was a tv a small couch and a small table adjacent the couch. All of a sudden the tv came on. I watched it for a minute but it was just static I was about to leave when all of a sudden I saw a blurry, but recognizable, face appear. “Egret cove,1002, mouse street. Fire hurry!!” it yelled at the end. I stared at the television in total awe. that was my house. I turned the tv off and skedaddled right out of there. I ran as fast as I could all the way to my uncles house. Inside I took out my cell phone and called my house. “Hello?” my mom asked tiredly.
“ mom!!!” I yelled. “Are you okay? Is there a fire at the house?” I asked quickly. I heard my mother smelling the air. My mom screamed and the phone went dead. I called 911 and they said they were already there and everyone was fine. The next morning I woke up exhausted . I got up and started to brush my hair in front of the mirror; and almost had a heart attack. Behind me was a Indian. A very angry Indian. I whipped around and it was gone. I ran downstairs. Later that day I went back into the forest. I was about halfway to the house when I heard chanting. I turned around about to run-right into the leader. I tried to scream but couldn’t.
“You have used the portal to save someone dear to you. just like your aunt. Now you shall pay as well, Amy.” he said. I shoved, although he didn’t fall, and took off running. I heard them behind me but I kept running. I ran in and shut and locked the door. It was about 11:00 in the morning and my uncle had gone to the store to get some groceries. My uncle came home 15 minutes later and told me I was going home. I was so excited I couldn’t wait to get out of here. I packed all my belongings and around 1:00 my uncle drove me home. On the way there I took out my book and started reading. Awhile later my uncle turned on the radio. I was still reading so I tuned it out. “We’re coming for you. We haven’t forgotten about you, Amy.” the leaders said. I looked up terrified of what was to come.......

well school isnt quite as bad as i thought it was gonna be.i have all advanced classes and no hw EVER and i have straight a's. and my backpack doesnt weigh 36.5 pounds! yeah theres a huge hole in my awesomical red backpack (favorite color). the bad thing is i have no classes with paige ,zoe or caitlyn and we all have advanced classes what are the odds? and i have 3 concretable classes (concretable= VERY FAR AWAY FROM OTHER CLASSES!) and they wont let us cut through the gym! and my bus crashed.(WHILE I WAS ON IT!) and now paige is scared to ride the bus so i rarely see her. although im scared as well but i HAVE to ride the bus:( * throws egg at bus as passes*
