Parvati in India. Many people debated her Indian origins, but both 'Parvati', and 'Patil' are Indian names (and is Padma).
As for the bindhi on her forhead - it doesn't necessarily mean she's married (some people thought it did, but they were wrong)

Yeah, the bindhi is meant to symbolize a third eye, like the one the god Shiva has, through which you are to see the world.
