Pink Moe - Darry & Lirio

I've had this drawing planned for quite some time now. I wanted to make a meeting between to resembling characters, and Darry (Gurren Lagann) and Lirio (El Cazador de la Bruja) fit the concept pretty well.

I've given some thought to the nature of the characters for the first time; I'd ususally just pick those I want to draw and forget much about anything else but manage to do something with the design.

Lirio (right) is a shy yet friendly girl who only told about two words in the entire anime she comes from. Darry comes from a show where... well, there's nothing that could surprises the characters anymore. I couldn't deal much of an interesting expression to her.

This time's progress was made mainly on Darry (left). Her mecha's uniform is tight, so I've had to deal with giving her shading that would match her muscles a bit. I think it turned great, so I'm happy with it. The same applies with her hair. Everytime I was drawing tied up hair, I was simplifying them (last time was this one a year ago: http://www.Fanart-Central.net/pic-737662.html). I tried improvising and it turned out great afterall, once again.
