I think It's high time most of you know a bit more about me. I'm not only an aspiring artist/comic book creator but I'm also An African American female who has Asperger Syndrome (A form of autism or as it's mostly known as "under the spectrum of the Autism umbrella").I am mostly laid back and try to be easy going but over the years of deal with the harassment and dismissive, and constant sarcastic behavior of others around me and the bullying and embarrassment they inflicted on to me,has left me moderately bitter and misanthropic. I don't trust others easy and my relationship with my relatives(A.K.A. my mother) is rather volatile. The only reason I'm writing is I think it's high time I get to say what I want and to express myself in a way I can offline. Besides having Asperger syndrome,I have possible O.C.D tendencies, depression, and trying not only to get over my sleep disorders but as well as getting over some self injury.
I received my G.E.D in August of 2005 and wanted to go to art school but since the stress and trauma of special Ed and busting my hump to earn a G.E.D left me with something know as "Interrupted sleep syndrome" and that's been one of the major things holding me from going to art school. I want to find a part time Job so I can earn some money of my own and find my own apartment. I live with my mother but, quite frankly I can do without her a her mood swings and her constant rhetorical question about me and my "always bumping heads with others" and then pretending that she never asked these questions and wonders why I'm "always angry" as she constantly puts it. (She was also had a big hand in I'm like this but when I try to talk about it she acts like it's the first time she's herd of this (she hasn't ) or gets very melodramatic and starts ranting and yelling and making me out to be her personal shrink.
I find art as an escape from most of my troubles or talking walks at the requests of my therapist and the less time I'm not with her or my other screwed relatives the better off I am. Well, enough of the depression stuff. On a brighter note I do enjoy writing stories(though I some times can't finish what I started).I love comedy movies, action adventure movies, anime, manga. I enjoy learning all I can about psychological disorders, and anything related to science, I like peace and quiet, being by myself and just doing what I like (going to my youtube or myspace page, trying to learn how to draw using photo-shop and listening to a wide range of music.)
I came to this place like most of you did:To have others see & appreciate my art. and see If I can get some constructive criticism while at the same time see others works of art and try to see if I'm capable of being as good as them (there are some very professional looking drawing and I can't help but be impressed).Well that's all I'm going to say. If you don't like what I've written about myself and think I'm some kind of freak or social outcast, fine by me but if your not bothered by what I've wrote then that's fine too.

Jess (actually, only now did I realize what your name was), that is incredible! I am so proud of you! I have put artwork in art shows before, so I know the excited feeling of being able to display your work. And getting it sold immediately at that! What did I tell you? YOUR WORK IS UNIQUE, AND YOU CAN USE THIS IT REALLY OPEN YOURSELF UP TO MORE IMPROVEMENT AND MOTIVATION TO DRAW DIFFERENT THINGS OUTSIDE OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE IN THE FUTURE.
Those who asked you to paint for the art show had the right idea, and now that you know that your artwork is worthy to be hung up on someone's house, why not? Keep going. This can only help you.
(College has finally ended for a little bit, so I have time)
Pstttt. $45 is a nice start. Did you ever take a quick picture of your painting before you sold it? Because depending on how much work and what type of different styled theme you

Well, mostly down but I'm getting better.
I was sick for a while but I have some interesting news. I've been given an art project by the UMAR arts program,( a program geared toward those with special needs) that as soon as I complete it will be placed in-
an art gallery with the possiblity of getting paid cash! Though I'm not holding my breath but if some of my art dose sell I'll be pretty happy. By the way how are you? How's colloge life? I hope to some day go to art collge. I sort of even you but I'm glad that you're art is as great as ever & that you are asking about how I'm doing, I appreciate it. Take care of yourself.

Man, college is draining my life and soul. I like to feel like i was not ready for it because I like to play too much sometimes, especially when I do not want to be tired with all the work, but I really need to get in the game. Give me some motivational words of advice to keep going, Tuntun! I clearly remember you being able to give some neat advice/words!
Dude! That is excellent! Even my small town has a sort of paid exhibit for art as well. You better get some of your work bought because I always felt you put so much work and filled so much space. Your style is also quite abstract and makes people stop to look at it. By the way, the pictures that seem to give an evident and not too chaotic (unless you were going for that) message are usually the ones that catch buyers' attention. If it is a message/idea that they personally connect themselves to, they may buy it!
Also, after this, you can personally sign up for these type of exhibits yourself! Never stop! It feels good to get your art out there.

Well, the best advise I can give,( and I hope this doesn't sound too trite) would be to take a deep breath & tell yourself: "I've come this far & I won't let anything get in my way."
If you feel exhaughted then I recomend making a list of the tasks that you have to do at college.
Then break them down & take the time to schedule the most important to the least. Also try to do take a break for a few munites but then go back keep at your stuides. Also remeber to do things in moderation.
Remind yourself that while it's great to goof off every now & then realise in the long run that you have to bettter organize yourself otherwise you'll burn out what with goofing off too much & then rushing to finish a deadline.
Plus not many people get to go to college so it's also a go oppertunity to try other things as well and see if you can get as much out of it as possible.
PS: Thanks for the compliment. I'm happy that you have that much faith in my work.
The art that they suggested I do was something invouling flowers. It was a last minute suggestion on their part but I completed it on Tuesday & by friday I'll know if someone has decided to buy my art. I've made many newer art works though I've haven't yet displayed them on here though I will.
And I plan on sign up for as many exhibits as I can. And here's some more good news. My thearapist has helped me locate a site where other people with Asperger Syndrome can meet up & talk. Which I plan on checking out. Well that's all for the moment. I hope my advise was of some use & I wish you alot of success & take care.
