Well... Although I'm not entirely satisfied with it, I think it is because I am so accustomed to drawing on paper 3 or 4 times bigger, I thought I would get this in for the Dragon Contest...  Still doing the style with the slightly translucent wings.  It has been a long... Looooong time since I did a pencil drawing.

I would welcome constructive comments, if you have any to offer, as well as compliments.  I would agree with you if you thought I might need more definition of the scales, but again... This might be something I could do if I drew larger and then had a digital camera instead of a scanner...  Someday I'll do that!

Draco looks pleased, as though he knew I snuck up to that summit to draw his likeness.  He is a bit vain (named a mountain after himself!), but that's just between you and I! LOL

FirePhantom24I love how flexible he looks. Those scales are better than any I've seen, not to mention draw. (That's the main reason my dragons don't have scales)

*faves* ^^ Well done!

AriaGunnirYeah, I think that's why I didn't draw the details on the old one I did... Mind you, I suppose the scales on this fellow are much more crocodillian and the ones on the other are a lot smoother in texture.

BadArtisthey it's from a book called dragonriders of pern.. i've head of that.. is it related to the movie Eragon?

AriaGunnir on February 24, 2007, 12:08:35 PM

AriaGunnirNo, it's a completely separate storyline, but in my opinion just as wonderful!  Perhaps http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragonriders_of_Pern might help explain it better.  I read all the books I think; that's how good they were.  There are other authors I've read the entire series of, too, but I really liked hers.  Thanks for you kind comments and your interest!

AriaGunnirI knew there was a Wikipedia, but not a Wikimedia...   *checks out Wikimedia*  Wow!  That's interesting!  I usually just look for the pedia and not the media! LOL Now I see what you mean! http://wikimedia.org/
