"Now I pray to the great and holy serpent of the lake, wise and fair to those of your faith, and ruthless to the defiled who scour our land.
May you bring prosperity to our kingdom, grant us the vision to govern it well.
May your courage be imbued in the hearts of our men, and your strength be passed on to them so that we may crush our enemies swiftly.
Praise to the Serpent of the Lake..."

This picture started out without any planning whatsoever. The whole
picture was just one spontaneous mess of lines. And what a fine mess of lines if I may say so myself.
While listening to Utada Hikaru's Kremlin Dusk, I felt an urge to depict a woman in anguish, but halfway through it morphed into a maiden praying by an altar. After that everything just pretty much went crazy. Parts of her clothes were inspired by Utada-sama's Sakura Drops outfit, then I added a corset or bustier or whatever, with the rest of the dress coming form my own imagination. Then more ideas started to spring up as I was on the subway home. Then out sprung the walls, with banners of the religion and the country, then came the candelabra, and finally the serpent as a wall ornament, with bricks making up the corridor. Finally while watching Micheal Flatley's Gold on television, I noticed the celtic designs and decided to add them to the doorway.
So Voila! This has been one of my proudest works since. Please comment and tell me what you think.
Thank you.
