Did this for my 'O' level Exams.<br />
Here Kenshin stands at a cliff's edge, staring into the open skys. Victory goes to his allies, but not to him, for what is victory without the one you love or a home to return to?<br />
This is probably my best colouring to date. However, I wanted him to have a look of joy, but with a bitter tang of sadness and grief. Instead, he looks more dazed and motionless than what I wanted him to be. I also wanted him to look worn out by making him barely holding the sword, but I made a boo-boo. Oh well, tell me what you think.

Whoa- thats so awesome. The shading is very good. Did you use pencil? Or watercolor pencil perhaps?He does kind of have that bitter look you were aiming for. (bows down) Oh superior one!

Simple. That's coz almost all samurai swords then and now come in pairs, a daitou (long sword) and shotou (short sword) or a variation, such as a tanto (dagger) replacing a shotou. With a few exceptional cases, such as the no-dachi (field sword), a sword that amounts to almost 5-6 feet in length.<br /><br />
The 2 reasons why you see in most period anime only one blade, is because the shotou was primarily used as a weapon of suicide or a last resort defense. And many did ronin did not see a need for it, nor did they have the money. Another is probably coz the artist was just lazy to draw something that was often never used.

*WOW* Great job on everything except the eyes and the nose. His eyes look either like he is sleepy or High. And yes, the coloring is realy good.
