u r all wrong!!!! (i think...) The basilisk is based on a lizard who runs on water (or vice versa). The cry of a chicken kills the mythologic basilisk. the cockatrice is a whole other creature.Tallest_Luver on July 17, 2005, 6:31:33 AM

But this Cockatrice still owns the HP basilisk, cause it will die imediately by the scream of a Cockatrice or something like that... There is also a third description of the basilisk, were it looks more lik a huge salamander.Keep up the very, incredibly good work!!!
