Contrast is a little off on no. 2, but still. :)

Both have black writing pen for their outline base, before uses crayon, after uses colored pencils.

Googled for a quick look at rug pattern ideas, china, and a refresher course on what the intended characters looked like for no. 2, but both are mostly out of my head.
