finally made a bit of proper progress again - blacking the girls is still throwing me for a loop (live refs would be nice, not sure where to get volunteers) but I can work on his front half and the bits of background farthest from the girls at least, and get that out of the way. Pleased with how his coloring is coming up - a very golden sort of lion indeed.
