put in this section becouse Mermaids are allso part of the Faeric Realm, unlike "modern" mermaids, their tails are FISH-like, that means they move it from side to side, not up and down like shown on many movies.
Mermaids are femenine water sprites, they are called many names depending on their looks and where they live, they are often mistaken for Selkies (comes from Seal Skin, they are wather nymphs that disguise themselves as seals in dayligth, but in full moon, they take off their skin revealing their nymph body, male selkies cause thunderstorms) Nayardes (fresh water nymps) or Nereidas (salt water nymphs)

yup they're really different =) mermaids are the nymph-like creatures you see on the pic, while sirens are bird-like, they have te body of a vulture or an eagle and the head of a woman, they sing to atract men, then they eat them XDDarkWaterAngel on August 31, 2006, 3:04:11 PM

acording to some books they are not gracefull like female selkies (some fishermen often steal female selkie's skins and force them to marry them >< shame on them!) they're monstrous, grotesque but still seal-like, the live in the deep ocean so they don't come out often.glad you liked it ^^
