**edited** This is a pencil and charcoal drawing of Nick, head of a local CT band called Dirty Epic. I altered this description now that he is no longer in the band, "Scarlitt". In any event, he really likes this drawing and I thought some of you might as well.

ragingflea002Jesus Christ, this has got to be one of the best pictures I have seen. I like the way you drew the lights in the background. The picture DOES look like a photograph and I'm surprised you haven't received more comments.

Jagermeister317Yes, I did use a reference photo. I altered a few things because I did not like the composition in the photo, but I did use a reference to get his details right. It took me about 2 hours to complete this. Charcoals are very difficult to work with. They are messy and they usually take a lot of practice before you get the hang of them. I would recommend starting out by putting a white charcoal base down on your paper, then using graphite over it. It makes for better/easier blending and personally, I find that my art looks much better when I do it.
