Okie, this is an art trade with BlackWolf. She requested her original characters - Zack and Zora. After reading the description BlackWolf sent me, I had a vague picture of it in my mind. Since the lady (Zora) controls mainly the element of water and the gentleman (Zack) has the elements of the darkside, it gives me an impression of a quiet and secure sort of love. (Like those that you don't need the opposite sex to tell you that he/she loves you and you'll still feel secure with that person around type.)

So I went about drawing the concept out and painting it with watercolours, and I got stuck....(Argghhh...hate it when that happens...;_;) ...the pic looked rather plain after I did the colouring....I admit...I messed up the work pretty badly and the dark shades were not showing....Thinking that watercolours might not help any further, I left the painting untouched for a few weeks....Until recently, when I got rather interested in coloured pencils.

After doing a coloured pencil pic, a sudden thought of applying this medium to the painting came to my mind. Maybe it might help bring in more dark shades! So I got back to work again and finished the pic.

Somehow, the main error that I see in this pic is that the characters don't look like what they are supposed to look like......T_T (And that sounds very bad...) Still, hope you like it, BlackWolf!

I feel like a total jerk for not commenting on your stuff so much anymore! You've gotten even better since I last saw your art. It's gorgeous, with out a doubt. I love her hair and expression. And the rose pattern on the sheets must have taken for ever.

=O Wow! this peices is so beautiful! The coloring is just so enchanting, and the contrast between the dark fabric and the yellow background just adds so much to the picture! The roses on the curtains are just amazing because they follow perfectly with the creases and folds, and adds such a detailed touch to the peice.

Thank you very much! I think the reason you say they don't look like my characters is because of your manga style. ^_^ Since my style differs from yours, I think that is why you say the characters look off. But I think you got them perfectly. Zora's short hair, green eyes, and even the outfit compliments her so nicely *nods* Zack too, his pose actually seems to say a lot about him to me; like he's hidden and mysterious, just like you'd think a dark elemental would be.

Again, thank you so much! I really do love it! I'd actually buy the original peice if I had some money on me! =D

I'll be working on your trade gradually soon once I begin to outline it ^_^
