He's not stated to be explicitly gay, in the manga they showed him with a girl when he was younger, but he hangs around with Hiei all the time and the other guys and doesn't seem to have any feelings for any of the girls. But Hiei was (semi) proven to be at least bi by Mokuro. Also people tend to think that Yokou and Kuronue were umm... bed buddies as well as beign 'thick as theives.'
