Whew! It's been quite a while since I've submitted something. I've been having a lot of trouble with my computer's internet connection which prevented me from accessing the web. x_x I could only hijack my schools computers. lol
Woohoo! My second attempt at combining colored pencils with watercolors! I must say I'm quite proud of this piece not only because I used a medium which I am hesitant to use, but because of the backlighting and shadows as well. I really enjoyed painting this because I decided to use a different technique which combines colored pencils and watercolors to create a nifty scribbly effect. I found the tutorial while browsing through dA. It was created by *ursulav.
Remember when I said I went to Kansas City over Easter break? Well, this is a picture for my uncle's mother (my cousins' grandma), who wanted me to draw a picture for her. I needed to put this as a top priority so I could mail it to her as soon as possible. ^_^ I really hope she likes it.
I'm a bit sad though; my tiny scanner prevented me from getting one big scan so I had to scan it in halves and put it back together in Photoshop. You can see the spot where I stuck it together. ;_; I wish I could have gotten a nicer scan.
PS: Oh yes, my masterpiece, Fox's Morning Nap, is also going to be shipped to a little camping place/cabin rental thing called The Fox's Den outside of Kansas City sometime in August after the Siskiyou Golden Fair (I'm entering it in the art contest) has ended. The owner paid me $50 for it!
Well, what do you think of the picture, everyone?
